dear oregon,

Dear Oregon,

Cloudy, gloomy and 68 degrees is not my idea of what July 5th should feel like… what gives?  I am generally not a nay-sayer concerning your often unpredictable weather, but a few extra degrees of warmth at this point in the summer would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

-Lauren

P.S.  I may have to make this delicious drink to trick myself into feeling at least mildly like it’s summer.  Yum!  “Blackberry Smash” recipe found here.

  1. yum! it was a balmy 95 degrees here.. something right in between would have been perfect!

  2. ugh, i feel you…
it was a cold, dreary 68 today too – feels like winter!
    i’m ready for some heat!

    bring it july!

    xo. thanks.
    xo. thanks.

  3. Boo to crappy weather! I hope Oregon listens to your request!

  4. I’d love too have that if it’s not humid. We have to have our air conditioning on not because it’s so hot out but because it’s so HUMID. Ugh.

  5. I’ve been dying for some sun shine up here since May – it’s driving me crazy! At least one upside – it’s not raining…just grey today. Trying to stay positive….haha.

  6. I second Meg. It is 9PM, and I’m still sticky hot. I’d like somewhere in-between please!

  7. looks deeeelish! i hope the weather warms up!

  8. Yikes, sorry to hear about your chilly Monday. It was a super humid day here in the northeast – 95 degrees was the high! I’d almost rather trade that for 68 degrees haha. Hope you had a great 4th!

  9. Hey hey you! Count your stars! I just left Southern Oregon and arrived to 9402 degree heat in Sacramento. I already miss it (and the stress free highways and byways).

  10. Waaa I agree!! But it’s supposed to be 97 Wed. and Thurs. which is too hot! I like 82.. glad I got to see you the other night!!

  11. 68 degrees?! Wow!! We can’t get out of the 90s.. so that seems delightful right now. But only for a day, then I’d want the warmth back 🙂 That drink is pretty! I’m not that adventurous though, I’d probably take one sip and cringe. Who knows, maybe not.

  12. Now that drink looks like it would solve any problem!! Sending you a hug and can’t wait to visit!!!! XO

  13. Hahahaha – Lauren, you should come read my blog post for today. I wrote a “Dear Oregon” post, too. 🙂 Great minds think alike?

  14. I frequently wrote letters like that to Oregon when I lived there 🙂 But now I’d be thrilled for it, since it’s after 9pm and STILL 70 degrees 🙂

  15. haha! I totally agree.
Although, i just checked the weather report for this week and it looks like we are in for a heat wave! 80’s tomorrow and 90’s for the rest of the week!
I so hope this is not a joke. Just in case, I am having the hubs set up the air conditioner tonight. 🙂 can’t be too careful!

  16. that drink looks yummy! I saw it on A Cup of Jo and bookmarked it too 🙂 I had a cloudy weekend in San Diego of all places. I expected it to be bright and sunny the whole weekend but nope 🙁 I hope it gets warmer for you soon!!

  17. 68 degrees? yikes, that’s cold! we had a “cool” spell here from about thursday to saturday where the high was in the mid 80’s. that does actually feel pretty cool when it’s usually about 100, and it was definitely too cold to swim!

yesterday it was 102, so the heat is back. i hope it warms up for you, too!

    XO, pretty lady!

  18. looks like your wish is coming true with this heat wave this week! hooray! I’ve never been more excited for 95-degree weather 🙂

  19. I will trade you! its 95 degrees here. Our ac is broken. and I am covered in “the worst case of poison ivy my doctor has ever seen.”
    damn Ohio.
