Some of you may remember that for my birthday Craig’s present to me was a vacation. A roadtrip to be precise. Well…we’re leaving tomorrow and I’m pretty freaking excited!
We’ll be flying to Texas to see the our alma mater Oregon State University play TCU at the new Cowboy Stadium! After that we’ll be trucking along through New Mexico, Arizona and California.
We’ll be seeing The Grand Canyon as well as friends in L.A. and San Francisco. I’m SUPER excited about seeing The Grand Canyon. I’ve never been there and I’ve wanted to go ever since I was a kid and saw the episode of “The Brady Bunch” where they went there. We’ll also be visiting our friends Matt & Claire in L.A. and Caroline and Marc in San Francisco. We’re maybe gonna try surfing in Santa Cruz – pretty sure I won’t like it, but it’s worth trying, right?
We haven’t gone on a “real” vacation since our honeymoon to Whistler two-and-a-half years ago, so I’m pretty much elated. We’ll miss Marley while we’re gone, but absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? Not sure if Marley’s going to agree.
Oh…and don’t worry, I have plenty of posts lined up for you guys while I’m gone, including a giveaway next week so be sure to check back!

That sounds like an awesome road trip! I hope you have a great time. And you’re right about Marley probably not going with the absence makes the heart grow fonder way of thinking. The only time my parents left their dog at home to go on vacation they came home and she crapped in the middle of the kitchen every day for a week straight just to let them know what she thought about it. Dogs express their feelings so clearly! LOL

I’m originally from Dallas – so if you need a great place to eat near Ft. Worth – go to the Mellow Mushroom – yummm! I actually think it’s close to TCU. Not too much around Texas stadium ;( If you go to Dallas, I can give you more tips!

That sounds like such a great vacation, and quite the road trip! For real! Have so much fun! I’ve never been to the Grand Canyon either, I really want to go. Maybe that will be my adventure for next year since this year was yellowstone.
