fill in the blank friday.

Woohoo!
It’s Friday!!
…Finally.

Oh man….I spent quite a lengthy chunk of time last week reading through your blanks.  105 of you linked up….I think that’s the most ever.  Obviously I couldn’t comment on all, because that would’ve taken all day, but I enjoyed reading them :).  This week’s theme is Thanksgiving…..since it’s next Thursday and I didn’t want a Thanksgiving theme next Friday AFTER the day.  I apologize to international blank fillers who do not celebrate this American holiday – it’s my favorite holiday so I just couldn’t resist.  Perhaps you can answer for a different holiday of your choice or just write about the things you’re thankful for :).

If you’d like to join, just fill in the blanks on your blog (or in the comment section) and then link up using the linky at the end of the post.  Let’s play!

1.   My Thanksgiving plans this year will include       eating copious amounts of food at my in-laws. My family comes over too usually…if not for dinner, then for dessert. I’m so glad they all get along. It makes the holidays go SO much more smoothly!   .

2.  My favorite Thanksgiving was   the first Thanksgiving we spent married when I actually made something to bring. It was kind of stressful. Not sure why really… probably just because I was eager to impress and show off my “wifely skills” 🙂  .

3.  My signature Thanksgiving dish is       bread pudding. It’s the one time of year that I make it, despite the fact that it’s my favorite dessert. Also, I think mashed potatoes are becoming my other signature dish. Last year I made Paula Deen’s loaded mashed potatoes – SO incredibly fattening, but SOOOO incredibly delicious – I subbed blue cheese crumbles for cheddar though! Hey…Thanksgiving is only once a year, right?     .

4.  My favorite Thanksgiving food is   Oddly enough it’s the clam dip. My in-laws always have clam dip and plain wavy lays potato chips sitting out before the meal, so I end up eating a full meal’s worth and by the time dinner comes I’m so stuffed… but somehow I always find room 🙂   .

5.  Thanksgiving free association!      turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce in a can…the kind with the lines on it, thankfulness, the non-commercial version of Christmas .

6.  Thansgiving is        my most favorite holiday. It’s like Christmas with all the delicious food and family time, but minus the commercialism of presents. It is a time to stop and pause to be thankful for the things that I have    .

7.  I am thankful for       a best friend who is also a husband, a silly dog, fabulous parents and in-laws and a brother who makes me laugh.  For family in general. I am thankful for the freedom I have to practice my faith here in this country. I am thankful for delicious food, clean water, tasty coffee, Portland, my little house (even with all it’s imperfections) and a body that is healthy. I am thankful for blogging and pretty clothes and laughter, traditions and getting dressed up. I am thankful for friends who stick by me and my happy little life.  This list could go on and on, but I’ll stop now…I think you get the gist 🙂     .

Happy weekending friends!
