for the man in your life.

If your husband/boyfriend/significant-male-in-your-life doesn’t have any interest whatsoever in blogging…. you are not alone.

I know this blog is called “The Little Things We Do….” meaning Craig, Marley and I, but really I’m the only one who has anything to do with it.  Obviously Marley lacks the opposable thumbs and grammatical know how necessary for blogging, so I’ll cut her some slack.  But Craig only checks the blog to make sure that I’m not posting terrible pictures of him.  He rarely ever reads it.  I can kind of understand….I write about handmade markets and pretty gold skirts and silly baby photos….not exactly titillating stuff from the viewpoint of the male mind I suppose.

BUT, I think I’ve found a blog he’s sure to like and I’m pretty sure the men in your life will love it too – (and really the women too).

Wood & Faulk is only a few posts old, but what it lacks in age it fully compensates for in awesomeness.  In the first few posts, Matt (author of the blog and boyfriend of Lisa Warninger for whom I am interning) sets himself apart from the pack with his versatility.  In the first few posts he reviews a pair of stylish shoes, shares the recipe for homemade ginger ale and gives a how-to for making a beautiful headboard out of wooden crates.  Is there anything Matt can’t do?

Follow Matt’s adventures in
experiments, style and craft

  1. i’m so with you in the mister department and “our” blog. going to check out the Wood & Faulk now…

  2. Good to know! I will pass this on to my husband. He has zero interest in my “girly” blog.

  3. I totally relate… my Tony doesn’t read mine either. He comes when summoned to see photos of the kids or grandkids… but blogging isn’t his thing. Totally amazed at guys like Matt who love blogging like us!

  4. love that headboard! don’t worry the hubs doesn’t read my blog either.

  5. My hubby actually started a blog. But only because he was bored and he has yet to really post anything. So sad.

  6. This just made me laugh out loud because Radley teased me for blogging forEVER until he started up a sports one himself 🙂 Now I can pass along Matt’s!

    Hope you’re having a good week 🙂

  7. Jeremy is exactly the same! He just checks in every once in a while to make sure I didn’t say something or post a photo that would embarrass him. Ginger ale is basically the key to his heart so he may actually enjoy this blog. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Haha I think 99% of women feel you here. My boyfriend barely uses facebook/twitter even though all of our friends, including myself, use them all of the time and I get sad sometimes when I feel like he isn’t involved in the conversation. Oh well. The complications of the digital age!

  9. My blog is the same way, (http://ashleyanderic.blogspot.com) Ha! It should just be ashley.blogspot.com….there is rarely an Eric on here! Although I did get him to write a post once. I’ll have to have him check out this blog, maybe it will inspire him.

  10. I think John reads mine every once in a while but he’s usually too busy with work and such to follow it consistently. But, I understand that it’s not of great interest to him since I blog about food a lot and he literally wouldn’t eat if he didn’t have to. It’s merely a survival tactic for him, whereas eating is one of my joys and great pleasures in life.

So, in saying that, it doesn’t bother me that he doesn’t follow along. I know he loves me even if he isn’t my number one follower : )

Anywhos, thanks for the link to this new blog. I think I’ll be checking it out soon.

    Hugs, Dana

  11. That is pretty cool, and yeah – I feel ya, my boy doesn’t take much interest in it either. I don’t really enjoy trucks all that much though either- there’s his slack 🙂

  12. Thanks for a great post!

  13. One day N came to me and simply said “What’s wrong? You haven’t blogged in like 4 days.” I was so shocked “You read my blog??” A little insulted he replied “Well, ya. I read it every morning while I’m sitting on the toilet.”

🙂 that might have been a little tmi – I apologize but I found it hilarious and even though he never ever comments on my posts he always reads them 😛 Maybe I’ll give him this guy’s link in case he runs out of reading materials.

  14. haha.. i love it! thanks for sharing..

  15. wow, this guy does amazing things! i am so impressed!!!
