weekending.

This weekend Fern had her first bath.
OK….
That’s a lie.
It was actually her second.  She had one at the birthing center on her second day of life so we could wash off all the birth gunk from her hair.  Also, it wasn’t actually a bath.  It was a shower.  I took her in with me and was kind of, sort of, super terrified I was going to drop her.  Thankfully I didn’t.  She actually really seemed to like it.  And then lots of cute photos ensued.  It’s quite possible that I’m partial since I’m her mom, but regardless, baby’s getting baths are pretty freaking cute no matter what they look like.
We also got out of the house for a wedding, a birthday party and dinner with the in-laws.  It was so nice to get out of the house!  It definitely takes more planning now with feeding schedules and all that, but Fern was quite the trooper and was well-behaved for all of the events (i.e. she slept through it all).
What did you do this weekend?

  3. I cannot get over how PRECIOUS SHE IS! I could just die over the cuteness in those pictures…nothing cuter and sweeter than a little baby after a bath! Sounds like your weekend was fabulous–keep those adorable pictures coming 🙂

  4. She is so beautiful! It’s good to see that you were able to get out of the house for a while!

  9. Those photos are adorable. I bet it felt so good to get out of the house! I remember our first weekend with lots of outings. It was kind of stressful thinking about feeding and all of that stuff, but I so needed to go somewhere other than my couch!

  10. She is such a cutie, Lauren. 🙂

  11. haha. its so nice to get out and about, do normal pre-baby/life things:-) especially when they just chill out and sleep through it all! xoxo

I’m glad you could do so many things with Fern this weekend! 🙂

  13. You are getting me EXTRA excited for my best friend who’s due today!

  14. Your baby’s name is Fern? I love that. 🙂 She’s very precious. Glad your family got to go out and enjoy a nice dinner. I went out to eat with some friends on Saturday night, and it was really fun. It had been a while since we’d done anything, because we’d all been buried in school.

  15. She is SO adorable! I always love bathing babies too—as they have so much fun! (Although one of my favorite gals is the only mama I know with a baby who used to scream at the water—they were definitely glad when she outgrew that!) If you participate in blog tags, I “tagged” you on my 11 Things post on my blog….

  16. Aw, glad you guys were able to get out of the house! And that little Fern behaved : ) This weekend John and I hung out in Lawrence with our friends Daniel and Kelsey, slept in and did a bunch of nothing on Sunday, and neglected to watch the super bowl. It was kind of an awesome few days.

    Love you friend!

  17. That towel is super adorable!
