dirty mirror. don’t judge.

This weekend I had an excuse to dress up…

…and if you know me, you know that getting dressed up is one of my most favorite things in life. The purpose for this dress up occasion? My husband’s company Christmas party. I’d never been to a Christmas party with him, but he recently got a new job at Bob’s Red Mill and they actually have yearly Christmas parties, so I was pretty excited.

I obviously had to consult my friend Echo with some bathroom phone pictures pre-party for outfit advice and this is what I ended up going with. Try not to judge our super dated bathroom and dirty mirror…the bathroom is pretty far down on the house projects to-do list…although I could definitely do something about that mirror…note to self*. The dated-ness of the bathroom is probably consistent with the era I derived my outfit inspiration from though ironically.

Whenever I get dressed up, I tend to choose ensembles with a vintagey Mad-Men-esque vibe (see one of my past holiday ensembles here – actually one of my most favorite outfits ever) and this time was no different. I was channeling Jean Holloway with a modern twist.

I’m in love with this ring I received from a blog sponsor a few years ago and this new necklace I snagged at For Love 21. And obviously red nails and lips needed to happen.

Also, if you’ve never worn a shift dress before you totally should. They’re super figure flattering and classically chic. You can find out more about this one here.

We always have to sneak in a one-arm shot when we’re out together. I love that our olor scheme together is a bit Christmasy, but not obviously so. It wasn’t intentional, but came together nicely I think.

This is my excited husband wrapped up in the Pendleton blanket he won in the holiday raffle. It’s so cozy!

The evening wrapped up with Bob’s Red Mill founder, Bob Moore leading everyone in a rendition of “White Christmas” which was pretty fun.

I’m glad we got to get all dressed up and even more glad that my husband is able to be a part of such an amazing company.

How was your weekend?
