A fair amount of Portlanders would consider themselves to be coffee snobs and it’s pretty hard to avoid. When you’re surrounded by amazing coffee you quickly develop an aversion to anything that’s not. People here treat their coffee like an art form…knowing all about the process and sourcing the best ingredients possible. My husband actually buys green coffee beans and roasts his own at home. People are into that kind of thing here and I’ll admit we’re pretty spoiled.
Good coffee definitely takes time and most coffee drinkers in PDX are happy to wait a little longer for that perfect brew. That said…sometimes it gets a little out of hand…comical even.
Sesame Street totally nailed it with this bit and I thought I’d share. It’s like Grover meets Portlandia. A little laugh for your Monday morning.
