What Little Girl Dreams Are Made Of

Fern is only two-and-a-half right now and as such she has no clue what I do for a living. I mean…she knows that I “do work” at my computer often, but she doesn’t know what that really means. I’m pretty sure she thinks I’m just watching super fun YouTube videos all day (granted I do some of that from time to time too…).

But, the one thing she does understand about my job is that sometimes we get packages in the mail and more often than not these packages are for her. Home girl gets more excited about the FedEx man than I do and with good reason, since it really is almost always for her. She knows that in order to keep the things inside the packages she has to oblige me with a few photos of her in or with whatever is inside the package and then it’s all hers. Ahhh…reviews. They are definitely her favorite blogger perk.

Sometimes she isn’t all that into whatever has been sent to us, but sometimes when she opens a box it’s like Christmas morning. Such was the case when we got a recent shipment for the Kohl’s + Disney Jumping Beans: Magic at Play campaign I’m an ambassador for. Jake and the Neverland Pirates + Sofia the First are the latest characters in the collection and Fern is OBSESSED with Sofia.

I’m not a big princess fan myself, but Sofia is a pretty sweet and kind princess who focuses more on inner-beauty, so I can get on board with that. The dress that we were sent was too big, but when we used our Kohl’s gift card to shop the collection ourselves later that week Fern found her favorite piece from the collection in an instant. Glittery, jeweled, purple-ness…this is what little girl dreams are made of my friends…or at least what my little girl’s dreams are made of.

She let me snap a couple of the obligatory photos and then suddenly ran off. When she came back she had her Sofia doll in hand and was shouting excitedly, “Mama! Me and Sofia have the same-same dresses! Now we can twirl together!” And then she was off again…happily eating raspberries off of the bushes in our backyard with Sofia…also what little girl dreams are made of.
