SoCozy + Back-To-School Hairstyles for Kids

My girl is the girliest of girls. Loves pink, frills, princesses, twirly dresses…you get the idea. One of her absolute favorite things is to primp her hair and “makeup” when I’m doing mine. Awhile ago bought her her own lip balm and a set of cheap makeup brushes to play with and she keeps them in her own little makeup bag (she calls it her “beauty kit”) and pulls them out of their designated bathroom drawer every time I’m in there. And now as her hair is starting to get longer she’s also really into having me create new hairstyles for her.

Considering her love for all things beauty, you can only imagine how thrilled she was when we received some fun new hair products to try out from the kids hair product line SoCozy.

She was stoked about the brightly-colored packaging – way more interesting than our usual – and the delicious scents right away. I usually stick to all-natural kids bath products with really light scents (or none at all), because the fun smelling stuff is typically heavy on nasty chemicals. But, that’s not the case with SoCozy. The products are free of harmful chemicals, toxins and parabens which was speaking my language. Kids don’t care about that stuff obviously, but as a mom it’s nice knowing  that SoCozy makes products that both my child and I can be happy about.

We tried out…

SoCozy Cinch 3-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner + Body Wash – This was definitely my favorite. Fern LOVES baths, but mostly just the playing part. The washing part is a bit of a struggle, which is why this stuff is awesome. Three products in one bottle it totally speaking my language – so easy! All I had to do was lather her up – head to toe – and presto! Done with no tears involved. Doesn’t get much simpler than that. I was skeptical that the conditioner in this product would actually get the crazy knots out of her hair, but it did a good job. Fern was thrilled about the mango scent and totally kept smelling herself afterward and saying, “Mmmmm!” Also, the kiwi fruit extract in this made her hair so soft!

SoCozy Cinch Super Hydrating Conditioner – Conditioner is a must in our house and even though the So-Cozy 3-in-1 was awesome, I still liked adding a dollop of this conditioner to Fern’s hair as well. I usually bathe her before bed and when she wakes up in the morning her curls are a fuzzy mess, but when I used this conditioner it was a lot more smooth and shiny when she woke up – thanks to the jojoba oil that improves hair elasticity. Also helps with all the brush tugging and hair ties I use on her.

We also tried out theSoCozy Cinch Detangler and Leave-In Conditioner and the SoCozy Behave Styling MousseThese were great for mornings when Fern woke up with bed head and tangles. I was able to just spray her hair with water, then a spritz of the leave-in-conditioner to get out the tangles, then a bit of mousse to reactivate her curls. Easy peasy! And much quicker than daily hair washing, which I totally don’t have time for.

SoCozy + Back-To-School Hairstyles for Kids

In addition to trying out these fun products, I also tried out a cute new hairstyle on Fern that I think would be great for busy mornings with little ones who’ve headed back-to-school. All you do is put a headband on and then tuck and roll the hair into the headband and voila! Hairdo success. She called it her “Princess crown hairdo”, but you can call it whatever you’d like. It took all of 2-minutes (one of which was spent convincing her to sit still) and little to no skill. I like that it has a bit of a bohemian vibe. I can’t wait until she requests fun hairstyles every morning before school!

  4. What kind of brushes did you get her? My daughter likes to steal mine and play with them so I was thinking of getting her some. This morning she pointed to my bottle of foundation and said “that’s peanut butter, Mommy!”

  5. Thank you for this! I’ve been looking everywhere for baby friendly hair product for my little frizz ball!
