#BabyProblems: Teething

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Hyland’s Baby. But, as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Someone recently told me that they heard about a study that said that if we had to experience teething as adults, the level of pain we would experience would likely lead us to ask for some serious pain medication of the narcotic variety.

Now…I’m not sure if there’s any such study on the topic, but I will say that teething seems like a pretty miserable deal. Tiny, sharp teeth shooting out of your gums, doesn’t exactly sound like a walk in the park (and if they’re hurting nipples with all that nursing, I can’t even imagine the havoc they’re causing inside a tiny mouth). It’s no wonder babies are grumpy for the first year or two of their lives as they come in…it’s tough being a baby (#BabyProblems).

#BabyProblems: Teething // @ The Little Things We Do

{A little throwback to Baby Fern and those two adorable teeth that were the only ones she had for the longest time!}

A few things we do when teething discomfort strikes…

*Frozen washcloths

Soaking washcloths with water and freezing them is an easy teething remedy. When our babies get grumpy and need something to teethe on, we can just pull these out of the freezer and let them go to town on them.

*Frozen fruit

I’ll put frozen banana, blueberries (or really whatever frozen fruit I happen to have on hand) in our silicone teething feeder and let our babe gnaw on it. It’s a great way to give him a snack while simultaneously soothing the pain. They’re also way easier to clean than those mesh net feeders. Silicone is way less gross

*Cold spoons

You could put some metal spoons in the freezer to keep at the ready for when teething strikes, but often I just let some cold water run over one before handing it to my little one. Does the trick quite nicely.

*Hyland’s Teething Tablets/Gel

When our babies are feeling extra uncomfortable and can’t be pacified by a teether, we reach for Hyland’s teething tablets or the gel version. It helps calm our little ones down and I really appreciate that it’s a safe, homeopathic option with natural ingredients…no benzocaine, artificial colors, dyes or parabens.

AAAAAANNNNND…speaking of Hyland’s, I’m partnering with them on a fun, little promotion.

The Tooth Fairy from Hyland’s Baby named Hylee is missing! And if you find her, you’ll have the chance to win a full sized pack of Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablets or, a Hyland’s Baby Gift Basket! If you haven’t tried Hyland’s yet for your teething little one, this would be the perfect chance to win some product and give them a shot!

Here’s Hylee, the Hyland’s Baby Tooth Fairy. She’s a bit mischievous, and is currently missing from the Hyland’s Baby page and since it’s nearly National Tooth Fairy Day, Hyland’s Baby is asking parents to help find her in time for her big day! If you help them, you could win a full size pack of Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablets!

#BabyProblems: Teething // @ The Little Things We DoYou may be wondering…”Where do I find Hylee?”

She’s been wandering across the Hyland’s Baby social media pages & website. Make sure to check to check them daily, because she never stays in one place for long!

When you find her picture for the day,  (exactly like the one above) make sure to let Hyland’s Baby know. To do so, go to this link: https://app.thesamplerapp.com/p/68298478178 daily starting at 9am EST and tell us where she is hiding that day. There you’ll find a questionnaire where you can check off where you found Hylee that day. The questionnaire will also give you a few hints on where to look. Every time you answer the questionnaire you’ll have a chance to win 1 of 500 Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablets. The contest will fun from February 23 at 9AM EST and finish on Saturday February 28th.

You’ll also have another chance to win when Hylee visits my Instagram account this weekend! Keep an eye on my posts, because she might just appear in one of my photos! *Wink wink*.

If you comment on the photo with Hylee using the #FindHylee hashtag, you’ll be entered to win a Hyland’s Baby Gift Pack (worth $50)! This is a great way to try Hyland’s Baby’s array of homeopathic products that are safe and effective for your baby.
