I’m sort of a terrible gift receiver.
You see, as much as I love a good gift and truly do believe that it is the thought that counts, the fact remains that I am also rather particular when it comes to certain things. I’m not talking about a handmade gift or anything. If Fern or Clive ever made me a pasta necklace I would wear it with absolute pride. But anything style related is probably just gonna have to go through me (read: clothing, jewelry, shoes, bags, etc…). I just don’t have it in me to wear something I don’t love.
Once upon a time during high school I had a boyfriend who thought that it would be a good idea to buy me a necklace for our anniversary. It was a huge gold heart necklace (silver was all the rage back then) bedazzled with a bajillion, teensy diamonds. It was the kind of necklace that 85 year old great grandmothers wear…not 15-year-old girls. It was a very sweet gesture, but aside from putting it on the day it was gifted I only wore it once or twice and only when we wouldn’t be going out in public.
Another time, after we were married, I mentioned in passing to Craig how it bummed me out that he had never surprised me with lingerie and how much fun that would be. And so, being the thoughtful husband that he is, he decided to get me some for my birthday shortly after. But, it was seriously the most unfortunate lingerie in the history of ever. Like, this outfit was the awkward home schooler of the lingerie world. We laughed about it later, because Craig actually didn’t like it either, but didn’t want to buy something “too sexy” lest it seem like a gift for him and not me. Oh boys.
But, I digress…the point is…sometimes it’s nice to just pick out your own gift. Hence, this giveaway!

I never can decide on a favorite PPB! But, it’d be nice to have a backpack style one for when #2 arrives this fall! I’ve always loved the Sashay Satchels, and right now I’d go with the Succulent Garden 🙂 (though I’m torn between the bright colors and the glazed!)

I agree with you, the Downtown Tote. But then I’d have to choose a color. I really like both the red and yellow/grey print. I think the yellow/grey would win.
