Average Mom Style: My Favorite “Looks Like I Tried” Outfit

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I don’t really feel like trying when it comes to picking out an outfit…and by sometimes I mean actually, mostly all the times. My almost 16-month-old sleeps like a chump (yes, I said chump…not to be confused with champ), my three-year-old is kind of a jerk half the time and to be really honest most days I’m just trying to survive. Ain’t nobody got time for fussy clothes that require an actual accompanying hairstyle (i.e. not my usual dry shampoo/mom braid combo).

That said…sometimes you actually probably should try, because even though I know my friends would still love me if I wore my joggers and birks to girl’s night out happy hour, it’s nice to take it up just slightly. So, here is my go-to “looks-like-I-tried-but-still-really-easy-and-comfortable” outfit as of late. Flowy dress + sweater + necklace + booties. I’ve been wearing variations of this basically all the time, so everyone I know is probably going to get sick of this outfit. Sorry, not sorry.

Reasons I like this outfit:

1) It feels like wearing a muumuu

Actually, it really is just a modern fall version of the muumuu. The only difference is the extra layer, because: fall. It really, ridiculously comfortable.

2) Actually, just see #1…over and over and over. I had you at muumuu right?

Oh wait…I thought of one more reason:

3) It’s just dressed up enough, but not too dressy that it won’t work with my dirty haired mom braid. Priorities people.
