i finally crafted!

So…it’s been forever since I posted something on here (OK…only a week), but thanks to a helpful guy named Ben on Blogger help I am now up an running again. I couldn’t upload images, but now all is well in the world again…or at least in my little blogging world.

Last weekend I took on a craft project for the first time in ages. My lovely friend Liz and I decided to have a “Day of Craft” which was basically comprised of drinking tea and making the easiest possible craft ever…easy, but super cute. And…ta-da! Here is is:

I saw something similar at Urban Outfitters for $35, but decided I could do it much cheaper.

COST BREAKDOWN:

~Lace: $9.99/yd. (*Note -I probably only used half a yard for the two frames I made. Also…if you go lace shopping, be aware that it is NOT cheap. The lace I actually wanted was $154/yd!)

~Frames: $1.99 & $2.99 (from Goodwill)

TOTAL COST: ($10 – actually $15, but since I only used half of the fabric it would’ve been cheaper)

I love the look of the rustic frames set against the refined look of lace. The look of these frames also pretty much describes my overall design aesthetic. I love mixing old with new, soft with hard, masculine with feminine.

A juxtaposition of contradictory elements is just one of many little things that makes me happy :).
