i heart food carts.

Craig harasses me endlessly about my love for downtown Portland food carts. I’ll admit they look a bit sketchy sometimes, but the end result is delicious gourmet-esque food in my belly at prices that are often a fraction of those at brick and mortar restaurants.
My new favorite is “Built to Grill” located at SW 3rd and Washington. As an added bonus to having great food it happens to be super clean too – although I think I might eat there even if it wasn’t quite so tidy because it is just that good.
This may seem a bit random to write about on a Saturday night, but I had the most delicious chicken sandwich on Friday and I just remembered because I saw my leftover half in the fridge just now. It looked something like this:
I got the chicken sandwich with pesto, sundried tomatoes, mozzerella and spinach and it was divine. Sandwiches are probably my favorite food, so I can tell you with much certainty that this is one of the most delicious sandwiches I’ve ever had.
On top of the deliciousness that Built to Grill serves up, the owners Brooke and Aisha are incredibly friendly – not to mention adorable. They chatted me up as I waited for my sandwich and Brooke even whipped me up a free sample of the pesto pasta and garlic bread (also super yummy).
I will most definitely be coming back again for both the cuisine and conversation :).
