my scary list.

In honor of Halloween I thought I’d make a list of all things scary….or at least things I find scary.
#1. SQUIRRELS
The creepiest, most unpredictable creature of the animal world. In college there was a certain pathway where squirrels would hang out near a garbage can and jump out at unsuspecting undergrads. I can’t help being scared of these schizophrenic, little rodents. I always think of the scene from “Christmas Vacation” where the squirrel jumps out of the Christmas tree and attaches itself to Chevy Chase’s face. No thanks. I’ll keep my face.
#2. FURBY
I don’t know if anybody even remembers these, but they were terrifying. Especially if you had one that happened to short circuit in the middle of the night and start speaking incoherent creepiness. I never had one. I always knew better. See what I mean here. My concerns are definitely legitimate.
#3. HAVING NO ESCAPE ROUTE
OK…so this one is actually scary, and apparently it’s called claustrophobia. I always thought claustrophobia was a fear of closed spaces, but apparently it’s a fear of not having an escape route. I don’t like being confined in any sense. I even hate when Craig tries to play around and wrestle and pins me down. It freaks me out.
Alright. That’s all.
What’s on your scary list?

Comments

  1. Hannibal Lecter is definitely on my scary list! That guy scares me senseless. I was foolish enough to watch “Silence of the Lambs” a few years ago, and I still occasionally have nightmares from it. Every time someone mentions him I get freaked out.

  2. i’ve actually never seen silence of the lambs. i’m a giant baby about scary movies. it sounds super creepy though.

  3. Don’t EVER watch Silence of the Lambs! I wish someone had given me that advice before I watched it.

  4. Lauren, I just about peed my pants reading this post. As soon as I saw the photo of the squirrel (like I had any doubts that was your #1) I was dying. And that Furby video is ha-larious. So dumb, but Matt was laughing AT ME because I was laughing so hard!

  5. I agree with you on the claustrophobia and furbys. But I just love squirrels! Oh my scary list are: large birds like crows, hawks, etc, roaches and clowns. haha

  6. Furbys are the scariest things in the world! i had two… and they are still in my parents basement. anytime i open the cabinet down there and see them staring back at me, i hurry and shut the door! CREEEEPPPY. why were we obsessed with talking furballs?!?

  7. I agree with all of your list except the squirrels…can’t you ever forgive them? I hate the dark and scary movies and being alone in a house at night. Ugh I don’t even want to think about it…paranoid I guess.
