OK…so…I’m not pregnant. BUT…we really are adding to our family. We’ve decided that Marley needs a baby brother (just not of the human variety) so we’re going to be getting a puppy probably in February. The puppies won’t be ready until then, so we’ve got a little bit of time left to enjoy our family of three. Marley is super excited. She enjoyed watching youtube videos of German Shepherd puppies with us this afternoon.
I also want to name the dog Augustus…as in Augustus Gloop from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Craig says no, but I think he can be swayed. If we named our dog Augustus, I would totally say it in the German accent every time I called him… “Augustus sveetheart…save some voom fo latuh!”
Speaking of dogs…last night we came home and Marley had gotten into the recyclables. She smelled her empty cans of dog food and dug them out and licked them clean so they were by the front door when we came home. I didn’t care, and was actually pretty surprised she didn’t go for the cheez-its we left out on the coffee table. But, she was still super scared that I was mad at her. I don’t know why. She never listens to me and she’s never gotten scared of me before cause she knows Craig’s the boss, but this is what she did to hide from me:
Craig was trying to fix the fireplace and she crawled right up under his arm and wedged herself there. So funny! Can’t you see why we want another? OK…that’s all the big news I’ve got for today :).

woohoo! how fun, we have 3 big dogs… they are my life! and we have a husky too… having more than one = the more the merrier! :]
hmmm im really afraid of dogs! sumhow i cant warm up to them without feeling afraid… but a puppy sounds like a good idea to me!

haha, you are freaking awesome. yes, yes you are. i love that picture of Marley and i am so jealous that you are getting another puppy because I still dont have one and am still hoping i get one for christmas… my dog died 2 years ago.. we had her since i was young and i have felt this empty void since she has been gone! i want one so bad. anyway, i am soo excited for you and think you should totally name him Augustus. tell Craig that name is totally awesome and he can call him Gus for short if he likes that better 🙂 have an awesome day Lauren!!

Yay! How fun! I’m surprised you finally came around to the idea of getting another dog! How did Craig manage to convince you? Or was it Marley’s adorableness that did you in? It probably helps that Marley is pretty much the best dog in the whole world. 🙂

gosh, i got excited for a minute reading the title of your post! another dog… i think you’re crazy. we always want another dog so that our Ruca has a friend… but then we’re always glad when we don’t follow through. one more dog = one more mouth to feed. and we’re a full house at seven already! but since you guys are childless for now, i guess it’s not too crazy. and augustus is a super cute name…

I am not so sure another dog is the answer, but if you are for the idea of a puppy, then I am good with it too. I love Marley sooo much, I am sure that I can muster up enough love for a new puppy too. If he is half as cute as Marley, it will be easy to love him too. so this made me crack up cause my husky mix says “aurora” it’s so hilarious! especially when my german shepherd tries to copy her… he’s so silly… his name is Bart short for Bartholomus… and i do believe that Augustus would be an amazing name for a new little baby!
I love the name Augustus! I actually call my doggy Megustus because of Willy Wonka too! I can’t wait to read about the new puppy when he comes in February!
