a little love-themed giveaway.

It’s giveaway time!

In honor of so many new followers and breaking the 300 mark I thought I’d host a little giveaway…. cause I kind of like you guys….a LOT.

So….this giveaway will be about all things LOVE-ly….since it is almost Valentine’s Day afterall.  BUT… the catch is…it’s going to be a surprise.  Here’s the main attraction:

This lovely little needle point I found while thrifting.  I think it’s so sweet and wanted to keep it for myself, but since I went slightly overboard while thrifting last time I thought I’d share my loot with you.

Other items that may or may not be included in your plunder could possibly be: hand-made (by me!) jewelry, other general craftiness and maybe some yummy treats.  I thought a surprise giveaway would be fun, because really…who doesn’t like surprises?

In honor of the Hallmark holiday of love I will be announcing the winner on Sunday….Valentine’s Day, duh!

Oh…and this giveaway is open to both U.S. and international followers, although I have a stipulation…. if random.org picks an international follower they will be getting something small as a surprise and therefore smaller to ship.  If this happens, I’ll do a second drawing for this framed loveliness and some other trinkets for a U.S. follower.  Make sense?  OK.  Good.
All you have to do to enter is:

1.  Be a follower of this blog.

2.  Leave a comment telling me about your favorite Valentine’s Day, or if you don’t have one, then tell me what you’re ideal Valentine’s Day would be like.

Good Luck!

xo

  1. ooh commenter number one? what are the odds! my favorite valentines day had nothing to do with romantic love, but rather the love between girlfriends – one year four of us found each other all single at the same time and went to sing karaoke. needless to say, there were a lot of long island ice teas involved and the night was very memorable.

  2. I just found your blog, it’s great. That sampler is beautiful too. My love is definitely not homegrown, but it’s so beautiful. I’m hoping this will be my best valentines yet. I’m currently on a 6 month trip abroad in Italy and Valentines day will be the first time I see my man since I left…

  3. yay giveaway!! that needlepoint is sweet, & would look perfect next to my other thrifted needlepoints! Fav vday?? the 1st one i had with my joshy, 3 years ago 🙂

  4. oh my gosh, is this not the cutest needle-point ever? and can you please take me shopping with you, just tuck me in your purse….because you always find the cutest things!

    ok. favorite memory.

probably my first valentine’s day with chris. i had all of these extravagant plans: choc fondue, a nice meal, cheesy movie, etc. but it turned out to be one catastrophe after another (i will spare you those details). anyway we ended up going to wendy’s for frosty’s and stayed there for hours laughing all night.

sometimes, a change of plans ends up being better than any plans i could ever make.

  5. I love this idea Lauren! I love Valentine’s Day, but not big on doing much… One of the things that I love about Andy is that he is good at doing sweet things out of nowhere. I am hard to surprise, so I don’t mind random things… So I don’t really care if it is for Valentines day, my favorite moment was when I was away and I came home to a mailbox full of little gifts, trinkets and love letters (one even in a bottle)! But he does nice and wonderful things for me all the time and I love that!
    Have a wonderful day!
    …Brittafly…

  6. My favorite valentines day was when my family went to Colorado to go skiing. We had a great ‘ski in, ski out’ and spent all of our time on the mountain or in the hot tub. It was a great vacation.

    xo, ash

  7. I’m a follower, so that takes care of step one, and as for step two… It’s hard to pick a favorite Valentine’s Day out of the many I’ve shared with my boyf of 10 years, so I will tell you what my ideal Valentine’s Day would be like instead.(And it’s probably not hard to guess, huh! :p) Him proposing to me, I don’t care where, I don’t care how. There! I said it.

  8. That is so cute – I love needlepoint! 🙂

My favourite Valentine’s day? Hmm. Probably the first spent with my boyfriend – so three years ago. He was so shy & sweet & got me flowers and chocolates. I swooned. Last year was great too – I surprised him with chocolate fondue & fruit to dip. This year it’s his turn to surprise and I’m not-so-patiently waiting for it to happen!! 😀

Hope your Valentine’s day is great!!! 🙂

  9. I love surprises! 🙂 And i hope to win!

I never celebrated valentines day, cause there wasn’t anybody to celebrate with. 🙂 This year it’s the same depressing situation, BUT me and two of my friends (who also haven’t found their prince yet) planning to make a complete girl day and spread love between us friends. Because we think friendship is as important as being in love. 🙂 I think it’s going to be fun!

  10. Yay! I’m already a follower, of course!

And my favorite V-Day was last year. Dustin bought me these BEAUTIFUL flowers and we went out to Buca’s with a bunch of other couple where we spent hours talking and eating and just having fun.

  11. awww how sweet!
    1. I’m a follower of this blog!
    2. My favorite Valentine’s was a few years ago when we spent Valentine’s weekend in Paris, France. I was sooo romantic! 🙂

    xoxo,
    Cat

  12. I’m a follower through rss, does that count? 🙂

Let’s see… I’ve never been into Valentine’s Day but this year it falls at the same time as Laskiainen so we’re going to go sledging in Koff park and do other fun things, so it’s going to be a Valentine’s day to remember, I’m sure!

  13. What a fun find! I am a follower.. 🙂

My favorite valentine’s day was one year when Zach and I went to the Relient K and Mae concert. It was just so much fun, and a great time to spend with my boo before we were married on a such a loving holiday. And for those that don’t know MAE IS FOR LOVERS! 🙂

  14. oooh how fun! well i believe you know i’m a follower 😉 and as for BEST valentine’s day, well i don’t really have one. but i know that this year will definitely be ONE of the best because i’ll be back home in upstate NY with M by my side 🙂

  15. yay for a giveaway! and 300+followers! hehe. remember that one time when i got over 100 and you were like “don’t forget about me?” well i am saying this to you now! i love you to pieces though 🙂

pretty much all of my valentines days up until last year were AWFUL. i was always let down or broken hearted, had some awful dates on some of them. but last year was amazing. sean made me an incredible pork tenderloin dinner, gave me roses, and a pearl necklace that i had my eye on from this antique shop. it was amazing. we stayed in and watched a movie. we weren’t married yet, but it couldn’t have been more perfect!

  16. last years valentines was pretty fun. i had a 3 week old and we packed up the car and drove up to visit my family in seattle. (it was sooo nice to get out of the house and out of town) having a sweet little baby to compliment our love was probably the best valentines treat ever!

  17. No one in my family has ever really been in to Valentine’s Day, but a few years, I’ve gotten packages or sweet cards from family or friends. That was really special and made me feel especially loved.

  18. yay for 300 followers! wowee!

my most favorite valentines day was last year, Ben and I went to a swanky little hotel downtown and went to a wine bar and then went thrifting in sellwood. He knows me too well. 🙂 It was so fun. Also my first married velentines day. I don’t know though, this year might top it..a lodge on the river all to ourselves 🙂 with no puppy.

hope you have a fun valentines day!

  19. My favorite Valentines Day was before I was married and Sean took me to the top of this building in LBC and we had a nice dinner and dancing to jazz music. It was WAY to fancy for our affordability, but amazing.

  20. yay im a follwer!
getting action from my sweet husband! oooh yeah!
JK shock value. but it would:) hahahhaa
    cute thrift find:)

  21. my ideal valentine’s day…

i would wake up to the sound of pebbles against my window, at 4:00 AM, and open the window to find my lover standing with rocks in his hand, carrying red roses and a small gift bag with a surprise in it. I would throw a dress on over my pyjamas and he wouldn’t mind what i looked like, and we’d get into his car, and go for a drive into the countryside and watch the sunrise. then spend the day together and watch a movie in the evening and spend the night sleeping underneath the stars.

hopefully someday i’ll get that fantasy ♥

  22. Hooray I’m a follower! I’d say my FAVORITE Valentine’s Day was last year, the bf took me and two of our good friends to Busch Gardens for the day. It was a beautiful day and a great time 🙂

but then again, there’s always this year..

  23. Oh, I’m soooo excited for that needlepoint! It would look cute to the one I have from a few weeks ago!

My favorite Valentine’s Day was the first one I spent with Ravi! He picked me up and took me to get a surprise massage!!! I had never had one (and haven’t had one since) but it was adorable! They had a little meal for us and then we had a sweet couple’s massage. Very cute and romantic!

This year, though, I’m all about a quiet evening at home with some homemade goodies and some of our favorite movies!

  24. Oh what a fun giveaway!!!
    1. Im of course a follower of your blog

    2. My favorite Valentine’s Day was simple, We had a glass of wine and a nice romantic dinner at home. We just moved and didnt have any furniture, so the hubby made it like a picnic and placed a comforter on the floor and we pretended we were in the park 🙂 It was so romantic and I will never forget it 🙂
    xoxo,
    Lindsay

  25. 1. I’m a follower, of courrrrse.

    2. my favorite valentines day was last year! My boyfriend and I went to the cheesecake factory for the first time and had so much fun making fun of our psycho waiter and the drunk people around us. then we went to see a movie and he fell asleep on my shoulder:)

  26. ooh surprise giveaway AND this needlepoint? lovely giveaway 🙂

my favorite valentines was last year with my then boyfriend, now fiance Max. We made a pizza, shared a bottle of wine, danced in our underwear to crocodile rock in our living room and were in bed before midnight. It was very low key but the one that sticks out in my mind because it was so simple and full of love.

This year we’re thinking of going to a local b&b. 🙂 i’m excited.

    x

  27. Such a fun giveaway! And who doesn’t like surprises?!?

My favorite Valentine’s Day was about 9 years ago. Chris handed me a box of chocolates (and I had to act like I was happy even though I hate chocolate). He told me to open it, and he’d put little pictures of us in place of the candy. It was all mixed nuts chocolate, so he used goofy pictures, making us the mixed nuts!

  28. I absolutely adore this, so very sweet & thoughtful of you too Lauren!

My favorite Valentine’s Day hands down was when the Swede & I danced the night away and had our first kiss.
This Vday is our 7 year anniversary 🙂 & special b/c it will be the last one together before we say I do 🙂

  29. oh my goodness this is lovely!!!
i’m so excited and i’m so hoping i win because i’m a sucker for vintage needlepoint! and surprises!!

my favorite valentines would probably be 2 years ago when my boyfriend at the time got me a dozen SUNFLOWERS {my absolute fave!} and a 24 pack of coke zero {my absolute fave!} and we just went on an adventure instead of the typical dinner and ended up having ice cream on my roof. needless to say it was delightfully romantic.

thanks for having so a lovely and marvelous blog that i adore reading!

  30. I NEED that cross stitch!!! It belongs with my collection in my living room!!!! STAT!

OK here is my favorite memory… a few years ago, my husband was out of town on valentines (he travels a lot) When he got back two days later he surprised me with a baby sitter set up, dinner plans and tickets so see pinback at the wonder ballroom! the key to my heart is seeing my favorite bands play live… so he won me over AGAIN that night! (Sorry ladies- he’s taken!)

  31. I am a very happy to be your follower follower.

I am super excited about this Valentines day so much its hard to think of past, They are all pretty awesome as I just try to spread the love and make things for the people in my life so I suppose we could go back to when that started.

I was a Senior in High school and my friends and I decided to wear anti-Valentines shirts and wear them, I was running around all day saying “stupid Valentines day” my mother the wonderful women she is, is single and never was valentines day about her boyfriend or whomever but about who she loved, mainly us kids and my grandma, so she always made Valentines Special. That year she picked me up to take me to lunch, and in the car I was ranting “stupid Valentines day”

Then she gave me the spiel “Valentines day isn’t about a boy, or being with someone. its about reminding those fourtunete to be in your life how much you love them, and yes you don’t need a day to do that and should do that all year but sometimes there are people we don’t remember enough to say it to and well Valentines day is just about spreading the love”

I stepped out of the car after lunch a changed girl, I walked into the high school and back to class.

On Valentines day of course people got things so what the high school would do is have a big table set in the back and then send you a note to class to run and go get it, and they usually set up some fundraiser like “buy balloons for so and so for Dawg Pound”

anyways I got the note and headed to the red and pink colored table, once there they handed me a simple card.

It was hand drawn and from a dear friend of mine who I loved his art, I always asked to keep his work from classes as he never did.

I was touched that my friend would do this for me, it was so simple but so lovely, and I doubt I will ever forget it.

ever since then I have done things for my friends

  32. i think THIS is going to be my favorite valentine’s day 🙂 last year was so-so cause Damir had lots of swim meets but this year its on a Sunday which is my favorite day of the week and I’m so excited for it.

    and i’m a follower, duh. 🙂

  33. yay, love surprises! & congrats on all of your followers!

fave memory: hmm, i think it would have to be this year! i blogged about an apron that i really wanted, just because. and then it showed up in the mail a week later as an early valentine’s day present!! we’ve been dating for 4 years & are now (very) long distance, so it meant so much to me & showed that he’s really putting in an effort (this would normally be very unlike him). & now i am desperately trying to find a last minute flight down to see him!!! 🙂

    happy valentine’s day! ♥

  34. SUPER CUTE!!! Hoestly, I don’t think I can even remember what Valentine’s Day entailed last year…. But I would love to do a plain dinner and movie and maybe stay at a fun hotel! I love hotels!

  35. Last year’s was by far my favorite one.
My girlfriends and I were all single, so we did a secret Valentines and all picked out a folded paper with one of our names. The Day of, we did a Caribbean themed dinner. The playlist consisted of music from different countries (trinidad had the funniest songs). We then had a special time exchanging gifts and encouraging one another.
That is Valentines. Love expressed in the purest form. I look back at that date and God’s presence was there. It was such a special time, sweet memory.

A friend loves at all times, and a [sister] is born for adversity. Proverbs 17:17

  36. my ideal valentines Day?
Going to a museum/ a library with my boyfriend and picknic there 🙂 or in the middle of the city, market place e.g.

  37. Oooo I want to win!!!
I think this is my favorite Valentine’s day because I’ve loved reading everyone’s responses to my love survey. I love celebrating Valentines Day for a whole week.
Last year was pretty good too Jus & I went out to Thai and then went to see a play.

  38. my favorite valentine’s day hasn’t happened yet, but i’m sure it will be this coming one, as it is my first valentine’s with josh!
i’m still trying to figure out what we should do. hmm.
i just want to make it as special and sweet as possible. 🙂

i can share my most MEMORABLE valentine’s day, tho:
when i was in 6th grade, i was “going out” with my friend justin.
we’d been together for about 6 months, and when valentine’s rolled around i had no idea what to get him. i went to walmart, and i ended up getting him this stuffed frog that was holding a heart that said “king of my heart.” or something cheesy like that.
well, on valentine’s day i went to school, frog in tow, but i never had the chance to give it to him.
because at first recess he dumped me for this big, snobby girl…kristen.
later that day, at lunch recess, my friend threw a chicken nugget at her head in revenge.
    🙂

  39. My favorite Valentine’s day was when I was about 6 years old. My Dad came home with a HUGE heart shaped balloon, with a wrapped package on the bottom and a bag of my favorite candies. I opened the package as soon as he handed it to me, and inside was a gameboy (the original) that I had been wishing for. To this day I still remember how happy and loved I felt.

  40. Im a follower!! And can you believe Ive NEVER had a valentines day? My horrible ex of 4 years just never wanted to celebrate. Lets see if my new beau has something up his sleeve for me this year

  41. My favorite valentines day was a few years ago….We didn’t go anywhere but it was so special to me.
We fed the kids dinner early and but them to bed then me and my hubby made dinner together and it was fancy:) Steak, prawns, salad the works I think it ended up being like a eight course meal lol:) Then we opened a bottle of wine and watched a movie…it was wonderful!!

  42. i love surprises! hmm…i normally celebrate arizona statehood day instead. even though i’m not from arizona. but in first grade i wrote and illustrated a book about two valentines that fall in love and then in the end one of them dies. very Shakespearean tragedy-esque.

  43. LOVE the needlepoint. So adorable!
And you know, I don’t have a favorite V-Day so far…I’ve always been kind of alone, and my dad was the one to get us a $1 box of Wal-Mart chocolates and a stuffed animal. But now I’m engaged, so maybe I can comment in a week and let you know?
The ideal Valentines Day for me would be to just spend time with my fiance- my best buddy. I don’t like fancy things like a steak dinner or chocolate or roses..just some time together, laughing and having a great time like we always do.
And maybe a needlepoint and some cute things would help to make this a great February

    …he he he. 🙂

  44. I love it!

  45. my idea valentines is spending it with my loved ones.

  46. sadly, i’ve never had a valentine’s day. but no matter, it’s not that popular down here, in arg.

but i would celebrate it, if i had someone to share it with. and it’d be all pink and sweet. possibly consisting of a dinner with him, and just cuddling after. i’m happy with simplicity.

    happy valentine’s day! ♥

  47. Ooh, hope I win! I would pay the international shipping cost on the needlepoint – it would look wonderful in my new home! We currently live in, and have always live in rented flats, and unable to hang pictures, so I’m so excited about the idea of being able to actually hang things on our walls come the end of the month when we move to our newly bought home!

Favourite valentine’s day – when I was seven a boy in my class at school hand made me a card, and got down on his knee to give it to me. One of my sweetest memories ever!

    xx

    ps: I’m a follower!

  48. Lauren, I left something on my blog for you. 😀
Oh and as much as I want to participate I think I won’t…I should huh?! What the heck!

    I am of course a follower. 😀
And my favorite V-Day never happened in a romantic way. One day maybe. However, I would have to say my favorite moment is my friend’s wedding. Yes, she got married that day, and I was invited. I might have to mention a few things though, because it may not sound special. My friend and I used to be pen pals for six years, and hadn’t met in person before. So, for once I was one of three people flying in from out of state (I flew in from L.A., to her FL wedding), and met her and her husband-to-be for the first time ever. It was a terrific thing, a great weekend and ever since we’re close friends. Too bad we don’t live in the same state! So, every Valentine’s Day I am thinking of her and our cute little meeting for the first time. Even today I think it was quite crazy for the both of us…what if it didn’t work out? It did but still. We were nuts. But it worked. I consider this a great V-day memory! 😀

    xoxo

  49. Favorite valentines day. It was my first valentines with my hubby, but we were just newly dating. My friend made us dinner and we gobbled it up. My hubby then played the song he wrote my on his guitar. Then he took me to see Spiderwick Chronicles late at night. I loved it, it was simple, like I like it, but oh so cute.
I love your giveaways, they’re so fantastic.

  50. Lauren Lauren. You are just Amazing. You are soo good at thrifting. SHEESH i need to get my thrift game on. Ive been doin that since I was like 14 and Its def an obsession.
    Okay.Back to the topic.
    Favorite V-Day?
I remember once being taken tothe lake, and havin a panda express dinner with candles and my very very own playlist to dance to. There was a blanket laid in the bed of the truck so we could eat and chat. It was full moon and the water was lit soooo pretty. This has to be my very favorite. so sweet! Heellloooo !

Hope you have a Happy Hallmark Holiday! haha <3 <3 <3

  51. My favorite Valentine’s Day was my first one with Matthew. He surprised me by making dinner and even though it made me sick it was still so much fun!

What a great giveaway Lauren! And a beautiful needlepoint find. I really want to start that again since I learned oh so long ago!

    You know I’m a follower 🙂
    xox

  52. hey lauren!

I found your cute blog from my friend Kassi over at BacWoods Fern. Your blog is adorable! And I LOVE Portland. I’ve been spending time there ever since I was a little girl and I have lots of family there!

My honey and I are moving in together this weekend so we’ve decided not to go crazy with Valentine’s and just enjoy our new space! We love to cook so we’re planning to make a nice meal and just absorb the awesomeness of our new home together! I got him a “C” mug from anthro (and one for me, since both our first initials are C) and I plan to fill it with goodies and surprise him V-Day morning!

Thanks for hosting such an adorable giveaway!!

  53. Oooh, what a lovely giveaway!

Ok, I’m already a follower, so that’s point one sorted, as for my favourite Valentine… it’s not *technically* Valentines as it happened in March, but it has to be when the boy proposed.

We went to Prague for the weekend, had a really lovely Italian meal in a sweet little cosy restaurant in the old town. Anyway, at the end of the meal the waiter brought the bill and a kinder egg. I was thinking that this had to be the coolest restaurant ever, free kinder eggs after the meal?! Anyway I ate the chocolate and opened the egg to get the toy and inside the egg was a ring! The boy had meticulously opened the chocolae, put the ring in the egg and resealed and rewrapped it!

I do love him so much!

    Laura

(Oh, and I said yes btw!)

  54. My husband & I try not to actually spend money on each other for V-day, because we could much rather use a vacation or $100 towards our bills, so we try to do things that are free. Last year was our first successful year at it, and he stripped, sanded & stained the wood ceilings in our home that I fought so hard to keep (they were in such bad shape that he wanted to just cover them up with drywall). It took him many sleepless nights to finish, but they’re my favorite thing about our house!

    And I’m a follower!!

  55. I follow you on bloglovin 🙂 Ooo my favorite valentines day. Well that would have to be last year, and it was so simple. Oats (nickname for my lovely) and I really just did whatever we wanted all day, which is out of the oridinary because at the time he was living 4 hours away in east Texas. We went to the movies at good food and were genuinely happy, then! He took me to mystery dinner theatre! How cool is that? He’s a keeper.

  56. This would be a lovely surprise indeed! My favorite Valentine’s was the first one I spent with my boyfriend 3 years ago! It was the first time a guy gave me a singe red rose and a box of chocolates! He planned for us to get ice-cream before dinner, just for fun! It was the best memory ever 🙂
    Thanks for this chance!

  57. aww fun! I have lots of fun Valentines’ memories. I guess the best one was when hubby and I had just started dating, and it just so happened that we had our first kiss on Valentines’ Day. Isn’t that the cheesiest thing ever?

  58. Of course I follow you’re blog! It;’s one of my favorite reads.
Well this year is looking to be pretty stellar. My girlies and I are planning to baking cupcakes, play twister, share lots of giggles, and watch chick flicks

  59. I’ve been reading your blog for awhile in my reader, and now am officially a follower. Not sure that I’ve had a favorite valentine’s story myself. Thanks though for the giveaway!

  60. What a lovely giveaway! I am a follower (international). I dont really have a favourite Valentines day but i think my perfect one would just having a day off to laze around and spend time together and than head out for dinner and a movie.

  61. Fun fun! I like reading everyone else’s comments. I’m not big on Valentine’s Day, so I guess my ideal V-day would be a low-key day spent with Josh, just hanging out, watching some movies, drinking tea, and maybe going out to eat.

  62. Wow look at all the comments. My favourite valentines day will be this one I’m sure of it. We are going on a tramp in the Waitakere Ranges which are only half an hour out of Auckland. I know kind of random but we have been wanting to go for ages and there is something very romantic about a picnic in the middle of nowhere 😉

  63. YAY! What a sweet giveaway!! Thanks Lauren, for hosting. I think the surprise aspect makes it all the better!

I don’t really have a favorite Valentine’s Day.. I’ve been with my hubby for 7 years and we’ve never really done ANYTHING! Sad!

This year I want to do something. We briefly discussed going to San Diego, but I’d be happy with a simple bike ride. I just think it’s important to celebrate your love.. everyday…but why not make an extra special effort on Valentine’s Day?

    XOXO!

  64. lauren, you are so thoughtful and sweet! what a wonderful giveaway!

my favorite valentine’s day was last year when my boyfriend took me to the restaurant we had our first date in (it was in Shanghai, so needless to say we didn’t expect to every make it there again!)!

  65. Ahhh I love this!!! Well… my favorite Valentine’s Day would be going to an indoor rocking climbing gym with my hubby… our favorite is in a little town called Davis where Marc went to college. After climbing together, we would walk to our favorite cafe and get white mochas… Mishkas is the name of the cafe and their white mochas are the BEST… then we would get Thai food for lunch, and either walk or bike ride around the campus remembering all the good times in college. Oh and then have dessert at our favorite dessert shop where we got our wedding cake….. Ciocolat!! We would hold hands the whole day, and I would carry a big red heart balloon 🙂 because we would be happy and in love!!! xo Love this giveaway!!! Much love!!

  66. oh sweet loveliness. seriously Lauren, you find the most amazing thrift store treasures. hmm…My favorite valentines day was last year hands down. Matt took me on a valentines day scavenger hunt all over town that took us to Big River for dinner, a photo booth at the mall (I had always wanted to take photo booth pictures), Target to pick out a jigsaw puzzle (which we worked on later in the evening-got him hooked on jigsaw puzzles), and the pet store to buy goldfish(random…i know, but there’s more to that part of the story). The night ended with a candlelit dessert he had set up at his house. I was so blessed by how much he had thought through the evening and made me feel special and loved. 🙂

  67. awww I love your blog and I love this giveaway!!
favorite Valentines Days will be this one! i’m drawing an extreme blank on last years’ but this year i’ll be with my boyfriend (if i make it home!…my car died on me here at college) and he’s planned a surprise spanning from saturday-sunday…i can’t wait!

    have a good night <3

  68. my favorite valentine’s day memory would be one where my boyfriend and I spent the entire day together doing our favorite things. sleep in late, brunch, go to the park and take pictures, then a nice dinner for two 😉

  69. i love this blog!

and what a great idea…a BLIND giveaway! awesome!

my favorite valentines day so far was the last one: my first valentines day with Jess (who is now my husband). But i’m sure this one will be better…our first one married 🙂

and I am starting to follow your blog….now!

  70. Sweet giveaway! I love vintage shops. So my favorite Valentines Day…wait scratch that. My favorite “National Single’s awareness Day” was just hanging with a bunch of girlfriends. we called it the “Boo Hoo Pitty Party” and watched sappy movies and just had a good girls night. It was sooo much fun. I have never had a good V-day with any of my boyfriends haha weird huh? they get all awkward trying to talk about feelings and stuff. Oh well someday, my dream guy’s out there:)

  71. Awww, how sweet are you?! I just love your blog as do 300 other people!
My favorite Valentines would be last year. Hub’s found vintage style Valentines punch out card, like to 1950’s style and hid them all over the house, my purse, car, coat pocket… and so on to find. With sweet little note written i was finding them for a good couple of weeks. I actually found one in my baking cupboard a month ago, and it was a picture of a little girl baking a cake… On the back Hub’s put I always make him feel loved with my home cooking….

  72. I am very happy to be a follower, thanks for making me follow your blog, I love it! :)One of my favorite Valentine’s memories was when your dad changed my windshield wipers, which really needed them changed. The special part about new windshield wipers was that they were red for Valentine’s Day of course, and he left me this wonderful love poem on my steering wheel-it said that everytime I used them or looked at them, I would be reminded that he loved me not only on Valentine’s Day, but all the other 364 days of each year. Now tell me if that wasn’t clever? Who does that you might ask? Your Dad, the love of my life.I AM A FOLLOWER and I WANT TO BE ENTERED IN YOUR GIVE AWAY.

  73. I’m totally a follower.
I think my favorite Valentines was actually in High School. I didn’t have a boyfriend, but I arrived home to presents and flowers from my mom and dad. They had bought each of us something — declaring we were ALL their Valentines because they loved all of us.

  74. My favorite Valentine’s Day was last year! I picked out wedding rings and then my soon-to-be husband brought me home to a a candle lit house and chocolate covered strawberries!

And my ideal Valentine’s would have been last year when Bryan and I drove to San Fransisco and shared a peanut butter sundae at Ghirardelli’s and spent the day walking around the city…had we not gotten in a major car accident the night before, totaled our car, and waited up the whole night while my brother-in-law’s parents came and rescued us and then slept in until the the next afternoon and missed most of what we had planned to do in the city. It was fun, but it was certainly not the nice, care-free vacation we had planned. Someday I’d like a do over.

  76. Oh how adorable!!
My favorite valentines day was a few years back. I was in a long term long distance relationship and my boyfriend drove 8+ hours to surprise me. He showed up at my door at 2am dressed as a cowboy holding an enormous bouquet of flowers and asked me to be his valentine! It was the best surprise ever!

  77. My favorite Valentines day memory was during my first year of university. I had been complaining to my boyfriend about how he was terrible and suprises and such so I was just going to go out with a girlfriend instead. I got home and he had gotten into my dorm room and left me a scavenger hunt all over my room which lead to cream eggs and other easter candy(which was my favorite). It made me like being proven wrong.

  78. I never really celebrated Valentine’s day. but this year me and a friend of mine plans to make some chocolate together and give them away to people at school. That will be so much fun 😀
    I’m a follower. Congrats for the 300+ views! x

  79. my favorite valentines day happened in high school… with my very first boy friend (gasp, don’t tell hubby, his feelings will be hurt!)

my mom made us a romantic dinner, that we ate by candle light. then, we grabbed our ice skates and went to a little baseball diamond that our local fire department flooded every year. it’s next to a covered bridge, lit by twinkly fairy lights, and we had it ALL TO OURSELVES! it was the first time i had some one to smooch on valentine’s day, and i remember my 15 year old self thinking that it couldn’t possibly get any more romantic than this…

of course, we broke up a few weeks later, and i’ve had many fun v-days since. but wow – too be young and in love and ice skating. that takes the cake!

  80. ooh, lovely! my fave v-day was a few years ago when my husband and i had only been dating for about a month. we are both college students so we were absolutely broke, but he still made me a beautiful little dinner and homemade truffles.. it was absolutely adorable 🙂

  82. my favorite valentine’s day memory would be one where my boyfriend and I spent the entire day together doing our favorite things. sleep in late, brunch, go to the park and take pictures, then a nice dinner for two 😉

  83. My favorite V-Day memory goes back a few years, when my boyfriend (now hubby) brought me dinner at work since I had to work late:) Simple but memorable.

  84. My favorite V-day… hmmm… well last year I didn’t have a Valentine’s Day. I left America on February 13th and arrived in Australia February 15th. I’ve only been in 5 relationships and 3 of those were juvenile and not worth mentioning those vdays. Of course my most recent ex comes to mind when thinking about it and our anniversary was on Feb 13th and we both weren’t really big Vday celebrators anyway, so we always just celebrated our anniversary and that’s it. So the best time when we celebrated February 13th was when we lived together 2 years ago and just made dinner at home and went to the movies. Low key dates are my favorite 🙂

  85. It was 2008 and my husband surprised me with Tickets to Jersey Boys in Chicago–I had been wanting to go and was hoping to get tickets–He surprised me and it was the Best–we went to the Italian Village and had a great dinner with lots of wine and on to the show–a great and memorable night!

  86. My boyfriend and I have been dating for five years–since my sophomore year of high school! We went to separate colleges in different states, so we’ve only had one or two Valentine’s Days together in our entire relationship! Therefore, my most memorable one would be our first one, as little 16 and 17 year olds, when he picked me up to go to a fancy restaurant and told me his mother wanted to see me in my dress, so we had to go back to his house. We showed up and his dining room table was beautifully set, and he had been slaving away in the kitchen for hours before with his mom making my favorite meal! It was perfect!!

  87. The best Valentine’s Day I had was last year, with the new love of my life from Australia. I’m a California girl and I met him on a vacation in England, but we knew things were perfect so I flew to Australia to be with him at the New Year!
In Australia it was near the end of summer, so we spent a lovely day relaxing and enjoying the simple things. We walked along Glenelg Beach, sat on a pier and watched crab fishers work, walked along the main drag and as church bell chimes went off we saw a wedding procession go through. It was lovely.
The night ended with dinner at a Mongolian BBQ where I got to try Kangaroo meat! It was so different than any Valentine’s Day I’d ever experience, and I can’t wait for this years 🙂

  88. my favorite valentine’s day memory would be one where my boyfriend and I spent the entire day together doing our favorite things. sleep in late, brunch, go to the park and take pictures, then a nice dinner for two 😉

  89. Oh! Wow. 🙂

I’ve never had a “favorite valentines day”
BUT this year. I think instead of being with one of my friends, or even worse, alone. (Which can be good sometimes) I’m going to go to my friends cafe with my crush. 🙂 I think it might be the best valentines day ever… But, no pressure to it.
