Got a text this weekend from a friend – Elysse – who lives in California. She never texts me, but this was important stuff. She informed me that I absolutely MUST check out the band Camera Obscura.
I’m thinking…OK…this is a little random, but I’ll give them a listen. Oh man…am I glad for Elysse’s randomness.
Now….I’ve never experienced love at first sight. Craig and I grew on each other over time. But, love at first sound…that I believe in, though I’ve rarely experienced it myself. This was one of those rare moments. I’m completely head-over-heels for this group. I’m pretty sure I’m tardy to this party, but better late than never. SO AMAZING. ♥ ♥ ♥! Elysse you are a genius!
What’s even better than discovering this beautiful music? The fact that they’re coming in concert to Portland in April! Any Camera Obscura lovers who’d care to join me?

oh my goodness, oh my goodness, they are one of my most favorite bands!!
that CD is absolutely fantastic, but you must listen to “let’s get out of this country” if you haven’t yet. the song “razzle dazzle rose” is a masterpiece. it brings me to tears almost every time i hear it, it’s so beautiful. i heard them play it live recently and it was so magical. you MUST see them live — they are brilliant!!
