I got my hair cut on Tuesday by the lovely Austie Eckley. She does amazing hair and makeup and makes the most fabulous hair pieces. If you are in the Portland area and are in need of wedding hair or makeup….or just awesome hair and makeup for any occasion, you should contact her. And not only that, but she’s so sweet and outgoing and just makes you feel right at home. Love her!
{a new shrimp recipe I tried out.}
This was way tastier than my photo indicates. It was “Crunch Shrimp with Toasted Couscous and Ginger-Orange Sauce”. To be honest I’ve been getting pretty lazy about making new meals. (Click here for the recipe).
I don’t know if I ever mentioned it before, but when I first got married I experienced temporary insanity. I had absolutely no domestic experience prior to the day I said “I do”. I literally burned water. But…for some reason I felt all this pressure to be the perfect 50’s housewife….even though it was 2007. I drove myself crazy with cooking. I didn’t cook the same meal twice for the first three months we were married, which regularly required three hours each night because my cooking skill level was so low. Needless to say, I got burned out on cooking.
Now I have some solid go-to recipes, but I was feeling a little guilty for not making Craig anything interesting lately, so I tried this out and we both enjoyed it. It really doesn’t take much added effort to make Craig happy, so the little bit of effort was well worth it :).

Today I loved finding spare money in my bank account and buying 500 Days of Summer, Whip It and Mad Men Season 1. I can’t wait until my package gets here 🙂

And about the cooking skills…my skills are low too. I would be able to come up with 7 recipes or dishes so basically dinner would be saved, but that is about it. I so need to work on that one. 🙂 And girl, I’m not married yet. 😉 hahaha.
My favorite thing of today…so far, considering it is only 10.30am…the sun and how she woke me up…best feeling ever! 🙂

I love your hair cut! I’ve been growing mine out FOREVER and it’s driving me crazy. I’m going to my stylist Monday and have a feeling I’ll be tempted to whack it all off but I guess I should wait until the wedding.

I used to try to fix different things for dinner, but now we have to same things on rotation every week. It’s too hard trying to cook new things, and since Chris doesn’t even know how to make ice cubes, he’ll eat and appreciate anything!

while i was driving on the freeway (going 80 mph) my OLDER brother opened my sunroof, put on the 3d glasses from the movie last night, and stood up to wave to the cars next to us–the wind blew his cheeks back all stretchy-like.
