the rest of the weekend.

Here’s the rest of my weekend.
even though
another one is almost here…

After the Camera Obscura concert my friend Jamie and I spent the night with friends Anna and Emily in Corvallis and in the morning we had breakfast at a little coffee shop called Red Horse.

Afterward we went to a lovely little consignment shop called “Second Glance”.  I can’t believe that in the entire time I lived in Corvallis I never shopped here.  They have a blog that is such a fun read – it’s called Glance Again and ever since my friend Jamie introduced me to it, I’ve been wanting to go there on my next trip to Corvallis and it didn’t disappoint.  I found so many cute pairs of shoes, but sadly all those I found were sized 6 and 1/2 and I’m a 7 :(.  I walked away empty handed, but I’ll definitely be heading back again next time I’m in town.

After a bit of shopping we all got frozen yogurt at this place where they charge you by the ounce.  Lucky for me this place wasn’t around when I was in college or I would’ve eaten fro yo for three meals a day and left weighing 300 lbs.  Oh…and in case you were wondering…. this is what $7 worth of frozen yogurt looks like:

Oh….and just so you know that animal cookie wasn’t mine – Jamie put it there for the photo.  My toppings were all fruit, which I think makes it a bit more virtuous, right?  Especially considering all my options….
After yogurt and before we left to head back to Portland we played dress-up with Anna and Emily to help them choose outfits for a concert they were heading to later.  Aren’t they so cute?

After I got home I had dinner with an old friend Katie (from The Skinny and Notes From a Very Red Kitchen and also from real-life back when we were day camp counselors together). I hadn’t seen her in years and now she has a husband and an adorable little one :).  Here’s Olivia trying to chow on chips.
This was Olivia’s first time meeting a dog and Marley was a whole lot of dog for her.  Marley wanted to be BFF’s, but Olivia wasn’t so sure about it.  Here they are having a stare down.

Later on we watched the season finale for Project Runway and pretty much Seth Aaron killed it.  In case you didn’t see it here it is.  It wasn’t even really a contest, but that’s just my humble opinion.  Seth Aaron’s aesthetic isn’t exactly my own, but he did an incredible job.

Sunday we celebrated my brother-in-law Cory’s birthday at Papa Haydn.
Then later we had dinner with some new friends John and Dana.  Dana whipped up some deliciousness and we had so much fun with them!

They also introduced us to the random (slash) hillarious
Trale Lewous.
Check him out here.

Whew!!!

Long and busy weekend.  Looking forward to something quiet and relaxing next weekend.

Hope you have a good Thursday!

  4. You left Second Glance empty handed or empty footed?

What fun to see the Big O on your blog!! Love the photo with Marley. Olivia is good at stare-downs.

Ahhh…so many fun things to do, but after some weekends, you have to go back to work to get any rest!

  5. wow, what a busy weekend! marley looks so cute in that picture, and i would guess she doesn’t lose staring competitions.

thanks a lot for showing a picture with an iced animal cracker. i try to stay away from them so that i won’t be 300lbs., but the temptation may be too strong!

  6. i loved all those pics Lauren!! especially the ones with that cutieee cute baby!!

seems you had so much fun for real :))
    love,
    xoxo

  7. What a delightful weekend! I love all the photos!

  8. Fro-yo by the ounce is never a crime!!!!! not even animal cookies, no sir

  9. Lauren you are KILLING ME with all that good looking food! Yum!

  10. Man, if Olivia knew I was just looking at pictures of her with Marley right now (and laughing) she would probably disown me. She was so traumatized by the experience that we’re pretty sure she had nightmares about it that night. For reals. Poor kid. I think we’re going to have to show her You Tube videos of dogs to get her used to the idea. Haha. I sure had fun seeing you and your cute house though! Thanks again for having us over! I only wish we could see each other more often. 🙂

  11. coffee shops are my fav! im glad you had a good time…also kassi and i are gonna be good in may on what we eat bc we wanna lose weight before we meet everyone in person…isnt that funny? well not funny but i wanna be in good shape to meet yall!!! i cant wait! i am so excited!
    xo
    love you friend

  12. Lauren, someone probably asks you this every day, but what kind of camera do you use?
Do you take the pictures and put them up, or do you edit them first?
I really like the way they look, all the time, and just have to know!
Thanks so much…and have a great little Thursday!

  13. Yum looks so fun

  14. That’s $7 worth of fro yo?! Thats just crazy talk…but I guess they know college students spend money on stupid things, even when they don’t have any. Frozen yogurt is the best…I still remember the time I walked up to TCBY (in Corvallis obviously) and there was a note on the door saying it had closed! That was a sad day 🙁

  15. I love Red Horse! 🙂

  16. yum all this food is making me hungry, for for yo especially! this looks like such a fun weekend…i love when they’re filled with food and friends & family!

  17. Wow, that is quite a long weekend.Or at least a busy one. All of that food is making me so hungry. I love yogurt places. We have a few here, orange leaf, yogurt stop, and spoon me. They are yum yum. Man, I’m so hungry now.

  18. I think I seriously gain 10 lbs looking at all these delicious food pic’s…. Why do you torture me so with dessert and ice cream photo’s???!!!

  19. Found your blog via {have a cute day}. Mmmm, everything looks so delicious.

  20. Oh my goodness, is that yogurt place called Menchie’s? We have one just like that here and I am addicted.

  21. that frozen yogurt is proof that god loves us and wants us to have nice things. YUM!

  22. what a cutie baby and everything looks oh-so-yummy!

  23. LAUREN! what is that frozen yogurt place called?! they had stuff like that all over utah and i miss it…and i’m not past driving to corvallis for food. hahaha.

  24. Oh my gosh! That would be hard for me to choose a taste of the frozen yoghurt! All the food looks amaaaaazing!

  25. I totally agree about Seth Aaron! I liked him the most from near the beginning…so glad he won!! 😀
