the wife diaries

I’m not sure how many of you know this, but I also occasionally blog over at The Wife Diaries.

It’s a blog that was started by Krysten over at After I Do and it’s made up of four wives (including myself) where we talk about marriage stuff:  sex, money, in-laws and all of the other big topics that come up in marriage.  We are all different, which makes it fun, because if you read you’ll see that we’re all probably at least a little different in our opinions on various topics.  Anyway, we have a formspring set up where people can ask us questions pertaining to marriage and we try to answer them on the blog.  One of our readers asked me a pretty personal question, but in the interest of being transparent and real about marriage I chose to answer.  If you’d like to read, you can find my post here.  But, I ask one thing….please try to be nice with your comments.  It’s a fairly vulnerable topic and I’m a little nervous about it.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekends!

The sun actually came out here in Portland so I’m soaking up a bit of it and blogging outdoors while it lasts :).

  1. I hadn’t heard of the Wife Diaries before. I’ve been married for almost 3 years (eloped at 20) and that blog is just the sort of thing I’ve been looking for. An honest refreshing take on marriage from other women in my boat. Sometimes it’s hard to gain perspective on marriage issues from the people you are closest to. I get really shy about it. It’s a lot less intimidating for me to read and participate in a blog.
So thanks for opening up about even the hard topics. I feel like I found a place to start when I’m stumped and looking for answers now! lol

  2. I just read your blog post over at the wife diaries and I’m so inspired by what you said. I completely agree on the topic of abstinence, and for the same “religious(ugh, sterile)” reasons. But I have a question. How did you do it? For six years, nonetheless. Feel free to email me your response at caraalynn@gmail.com. I’m very interested.

  3. Wow, that is SUCH a great idea! I think it’s a really good blog and I’m now a follower!

  4. The sun came out here also! And it snowed overnight (GROSS!) but thankfully the snow was gone by the time I woke up. And it better stay gone.

  5. what a refreshing post on After I Do! It’s great for all types of women to ask honest questions and get honest answers. I can personally relate to your answer because my husband and I did the same thing. I was an old maid (27 haha) and people couldn’t believe we waited! It was worth it.

  6. I read your post and think it’s great how honest you are! You guys have a great blog over there and it’s fun to read even though I’m no where near married 🙂

Hope you are having a great weekend!

  7. i read your post and love how honest you were! i know its hard to be that open and honest with bloggy friends that you do not even know, but i’m sure that your post will be inspiring to other couples trying to wait! <3

  8. i think everyone really appreciates an honest blog. this is something i really struggle with too (how personal to get in my blog). but i think there is something to be said for being candid and open about issues that so many people deal with but don’t want to talk about. i am curious to know what religion you are. i realize you may not feel comfortable answering. i ask only because i was raised with the same belief- no se before marriage. anyway- glad you shared.

  9. i love when there’s sunshine here in oregon. it makes it SO SO SO beautiful. happy weekend, love.

  10. I sooo need to be reading the wife diaries. You have a cutie cute blog. 🙂
