how to….make your day instantly happier.

The perfect way to turn a bad day into a good one…. brought to you by the beautiful Camilla Leila of Champagne Bubbles!

As I was thinking about what to do for my How To post for Lauren, I was struggling to come up with something that I really thought would be useful. Also, I’ve been having a bummer few days. The boyfriend is off being a rockstar swimmer and I have been super lonely and in a bad mood. Then it hit me. We all need ways to lift our moods really quickly when things aren’t going our way sooo…here are some of my tricks!

Step one:
get out of bed. stop sulking. do whatever you have to do to get your blood pumping and make yourself feel a little better. Go to the gym or better yet, blast your favorite song and have a dance party all by yourself in front of a mirror. I promise that the silly moves you come up with will make you laugh.
Step two:
pick up some fresh flowers for yourself. Even the cheap-o bunches from Safeway or trader Joes help to make the whole room feel brighter and happier.
I picked these ranunculas up today at TJ’s and they really do make me feel better!

Step three:
Pour yourself a glass of sparkling water (I call it bubble water) and pop in a few berries. Instant decadence. If you’ve had a REALLY bad day, you might want to swap the bubble water for real bubbly!
Step four:
Make yourself a comforting dish. Something you loved to eat when you were little that your mama made for you. For me, cheese quesadillas always help to make me feel better. And a pile of pickled goods nearby is crucial. (I used whole wheat handmade tortillas from TJ’s which I am crazy about)
Step five:
Indulge in a little treat for yourself. Something yummy that will make you smile. But don’t go overboard here, otherwise you’ll feel guilty about how naughty you just were. My treat of choice today…chocolate covered pretzels.
Step six:
At this point, your mood should be turned around and the whole world should look a little brighter. Now feel free to tuck back in bed and watch some wonderful trashy TV. Like the Kardashian marathon that I am indulging in right now 🙂
Hopefully these tips help you out next time you need a little pick me up when things aren’t going well for you. xoxo.

Thanks Camilla!

I am in 100% agreement…any of these things would instantly make my day happier :).

Hope it works for the rest of you!
