weekending.

This weekend was pretty laid back and I loved it….after our vacation we were in need of a vacation so it was perfect.  Lots of friends, food and watching Dexter.

FRIDAY:
Hung out with some girl friends after work eating snacky food and drinking champagne.  Delicious and fun :).   I heart champagne.
SATURDAY:
Went to the PDX collective sale at the Ace Hotel.
I love the Ace.

Coffee (preferably from Stumptown) must be consumed before any good shopping trip or else it probably won’t be a good shopping trip.  Coffee helps ward off shopping grump.

Oh…and aren’t my friends James and Ash so cute?  I love them.

A veritable fashion wonderland inside.
I didn’t take any photos though.
I was too distracted with pretty things.

After this we went shopping with Jamie’s husband Matt.  I’m going to be styling a photo shoot for them and we needed to find some clothes for her hubby.  I will never understand the aversion husbands have to shopping.  Even Craig hates it and he’s actually fairly stylish.  Matt wasn’t too excited about the process, but we found him some great things and I’m super excited for their photo shoot!

Later we had our friends Dana and John over for dinner.
Bruschetta and more Champagne
Feta and Rosemary Stuffed Chicken
Toasted Pine Nut Couscous
Garlic Butter Asparagus
YUM!

It started down pouring toward the end of dinner and I mentioned that I’d always wanted to wash my hair in the rain…it’s actually on my life list.  Everyone said I should do it.  So I threw on my swimsuit and ran out with a bottle of shampoo.  I ended up using too much shampoo and didn’t have quite enough rain to wash it out, but it was still fun and spontaneous :).
SUNDAY:
Coffee at Crema before church, then afterward I went wedding dress shopping with my brother’s fiance Mallory.  She has the perfect curvy body with a teeny waist that was practically MADE for wedding dresses so everything looked lovely on her, but we ended up finding “the one” that looked extra lovely :).

That was my weekend….
With a lot of Dexter interspersed in there as well.

How was your weekend?

  1. What a fun weekend! I can’t believe you washed your hair in the rain!!

  2. Darling, your weekend sounds so lovely! I go Spring break next week for two weeks, and the chance to actually spend a weekend having fun and being busy with things other than study will be so thrilling. I think I’ll take a leaf out of your book and wash my hair in the rain one day, also! It sounds refreshing and beautiful, and that picture is too perfect.

Glad you enjoyed your weekend, sweet. Here’s to many more beautiful days in Portland. (I miss it there so badly…I’m dying to come back)

    Much Love Always,
    Norah xx

  3. Shopping is a million times improved with some coffee in your system!

  4. Looks so fun! How amazing was that coffee? Because it looked amazing. I love long, relaxing weekends…who doesn’t? I am starting to look forward to Friday already, time to chill out and relax. Have a great week!!

  5. I love the way espresso drinks look when the barista knows how to pour it! Sometimes it makes a heart and I can’t help but smile!

  6. Jealous, I wish I had your weekend instead of mine!

  7. Sounds like a perfect busy, but fun weekend! Dexter has been stealing my evenings lately, but I don’t mind at all.

  8. haha i just literally laughed out loud because my best friend and i used to love “showering” in the rain… we also found it necessary to sing in the shower, which basically meant belting showtunes from my backyard. gotta love those spontaneous moments, right?

    happy monday 🙂

  9. I love the latte art, I wish they’d do that for me at Starbucks! Pretty, pretty pictures. Wedding dress shopping sounds really fun… even if not looking for your own dress, it would be like watching Say Yes To The Dress, but in realtime! I may be just a tad wedding obsessed, ha. My weekend was good, I moved back to my dorm and hung out with all my college friends last night 🙂 Our TV show of choice…. Keeping Up With The Kardashians, lol.

  10. I’ve never thought about washing my hair in the rain, but now I’ve got an itch to do it. Seems like fun.

  11. Thanks for the link lovely : ) Just wanted to say that I heart those feather earrings and I hope you got them. And that I love your photos this post. We had a blast with you guys this weekend. Hope you have a good week friend!

  12. Sounds like a great weekend! Love the earrings.

  13. Awesome:)I think I need to add washing my hair in the rain to things I want to do!

  14. I love Dexter and washing my hair in the rain… fun!

  15. OOh what a fun weekend! I love champagne – my favorite is Schramsberg Blanc de Noir. Mmmmm!!

I am finishing up season 3 of ‘Dexter’ – such a good show! I think season 2 was the best so far.

  16. So….just curious. Where did you and Mallory go wedding dress shopping? I am getting married next summer and really have no idea where to start looking! Any suggestions for places in the Portland area?
