fill in the blank friday.

Holy link-ups Batman!

A whopping 113 of you linked up and blogged your blanks last week.  Pretty sure that’s the most ever.  I love that you guys actually play along with this.  If it weren’t for that I’d definitely quit hosting this, because sometimes coming up with blanks is just too much work!

This week’s theme is obviously…Halloween, because it’s one of my favorite holidays.  Mostly just because I’m a completely sucker for dressing up :).  If you’d like to play along, just fill in the blanks over at your blog (or in the comment section below) and then link up using the linky at the end of this post.  Let’s play!

{photo taken by me because I love pretty leaves and my black & brown polka dot tights}

1.   My Halloween plans this year will include       going to a football game at OSU with Craig and my in-laws.  It will probably take up a lot of the day, so we probably won’t do anything cool later on :(.  I’m super sad because I absolutely love Halloween and dressing up    .

2.  My most memorable Halloween costume was   when I was a ballerina circa age 7.  I only remember it because it was my first Oregon Halloween and it was freaking cold so I had to wear a freaking parka over my tutu. My 7 year old self was pissed  .

3.  For Halloween this year I’m going to be       nothing :(. That’s technically not true, because I’m actually dressing up as a cowgirl on Friday at work – kids always love when their teachers dress up 🙂     .

4.  I’ve always wanted to dress up as   Cleopatra.  She was so glamorous!   .

5.  Halloween free association!      candy corn, cold, bobbing or apples, bats, spooky .

6.  The worst thing about Halloween is        that it’s always so flipping cold and I usually can’t wear my outfit sans modifications – usually a coat is involved    .

7.  The best thing about Halloween is       dressing up.  I LOVE dressing up.  Fancy, silly or otherwise. It’s probably the one thing I miss most about college. I lived in a Christian sorority, so there were always events that gave us an excuse to dress up. Once we had a Thanksgiving party and I dressed up like a pilgrim and Craig was Plymouth Rock      .
What are your Halloween plans?
Share them with me so I can be excited for you, since I don’t get to go to any fun Halloween parties…I’ll be at a football game 🙁 .

  1. aw I can’t believe you’re not going to dress up!! You should do it anyway if you pass out candy 🙂 But the game will be lots of fun I bet!

  2. I am having a Halloween spent at home this year. I’ll be handing out candy and then hosting a dinner for my family. The only thing “spooky” about that dinner will be the “poison” Funfetti cupcakes I’ll be making!

    Have a Happy Halloween!

  3. Lol!!! I looooved my ballerina outfit!! My mum somehow found this pink fuzzy sweater that was super warm and it totally matched my dress!! 🙂
Have a wonderful day and Happy Halloween!

  4. This Halloween, we are #1, Celebrating our family team, The Giants! Seriously though, Grown Up Halloween party tonight, kids Halloween party through church tomorrow night and lots of Trick or Treating. My husband and I will be Hawaiian Natives, Grass skirt and all, we even got long, black curly wigs. My husband, “Mark” has a Giants themed Hawaiian shirt, so that will be his good luck charm for tomorrow’s game. Have fun at school! Going to a Halloween Parade today at my kidlets school. Can’t wait!

PS My 8 year old was Cleopatra last year. I agree, very glamorous!

  5. I also wanted to be Cleopatra since I recently cut really short bangs. Looks like there will be two of us not dressing up this year. I didn’t have time to put a costume together, plus, we don’t have our usual Halloween house party to go to.

Have a great weekend and have fun at the football game.

PS – I really want to start watching football since I love tv shows and movies that revolve around football. I just don’t get the game though.

  6. I’m not doing anything for Halloween. Maybe if I can get my homework done the hubs and I will watch scary movies.

  7. You should either dress up like a CRAZY football fan, cheerleader in the teams colors, or the teams mascot. No one would judge because it’s all in the spirit of fun.

  8. I’ve always wanted to dress up like Cleopatra too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Ha loved this fill in!!! And I love the image of your 7 year old self being pissed ha Lauren you are hilarious. I would have been pissed too though probably even now. So honestly, I hate candy corn I can just feel all the waxy ick when I eat them ewwww. I appreciate that others might enjoy them but for me they make me cringe far more than a scary movie. Sending you hugs and love!!!! Miss you mucho mucho!! 🙂

  10. Arter the game Adam’s band (Antioch’s cook) is playing and people get dressed up if you wanna do that! It was at Alicia’s house last year.. I’m guessing around 8. Kinda weird that Halloween is on a Sunday this year.. were helping at a Harvest party at my church. See ya tomorrow!!

  11. Aw man, I’m SO bummed I missed these Friday-Fills — what fun questions! Maybe I’ll do a make-up later this week ;]
