a day in the life.

I was inspired by this post over at Bleubird Vintage where James took a photo or two every hour throughout the day.  So I decided to try it myself.  So here is what a day in the the life of Lauren looks like….

Cheerios for breakfast.

Doing my chores for the day –
Tuesday’s are my cleaning day.

Driving.

Made a stop at Mr. Green Bean because we were out of beans for roasting.

Met up with Lisa for interning….even though it’s not really interning anymore.  I’m officially a contributor for Urban Weeds.  Yay!  First order or Urban Weeds business….coffee at Coava.  Lisa makes me get espresso now instead of mochas and thus far I’ve found the experience to be ok, but not something I’d order myself….until today….

I got the Costa Rican single origin with kiwi, chocolate and lavender notes.

Seriously, SO good!  I’d even order it all on my own!  Thanks Lisa!

Second stop, Water Avenue Coffee.

I love their branding.

Got a shot of their Sumatran.  Also good – more of an earthy flavor, but that Costa Rican from Coava is still definitely my favorite.

Scouted some street style.  Did a style interview.

Made a stop at the place where Lisa will be shooting a cookbook this weekend and where I’ll be her trusty photo assistant.

Ginger ale – my favorite.

Hanging out with Lisa’s dog Hani.

Done with Urban Weeds for the day and stopped to get gas.  Gas prices are kind of obscene.  For real.  Not OK.

Stopped at the hardware store to pick up supplies for the braided hex nut bracelet I’m going to be making (check it out here!)

Went grocery shopping.

Came home and made little hand pies for dinner with friends.

Our friends ended up canceling, so we ate them ourselves.

….while blogging and watching Big Love.

The End.

Hope you had a good day today!

  17. Umm I just was in the middle of writing a super long comment but it magically disappeared…lame. It pretty much said…hooray for being a contributer, you are crazy (but) brave when it comes to straight shots, I like the idea for a blog post, bummer your friends didn’t show up AGAIN (call us next time 🙂 ), your hand pies turned out great…did you love them?, and you guys are killing my with your cute little Hobo clutches…I’m kicking myself for not getting the one I saw on sale at Anthro around Christmas (but who am I kidding…it wouldn’t fit diapers and snacks), oh and Bennett is excited about Friday and that’s sad that Craig didn’t like the chair, you could make it cute with a funky blanket or pillow! phew 🙂

  18. Look at you MRS. ESPRESSO!!! SO great being that in Summer you would only drink mochas I am so impressed. And, yay!! You are a contributor. WAHOO! XO! XO! XO!! Miss you lady!

  19. fun! I really like this idea.. I might try it too. Those little pies are adorable! and congrats on your position with Urban Weeds.. yay!

  20. i love this post!! such a cool idea 🙂

  21. i love this idea!!! what a fun and interesting life you have – seriously!!!
ugh – gas prices are high here too. it’s $3.49+ in the Boston area.

  22. Love the ending… so very meta. 🙂

  23. thanks for sharing your day!!

  24. I would love to have a middle of the week day off like that. My house would be a lot cleaner, but I bet I wouldn’t make the most of it like you do. I would probably just watch tv for like half of the day.

The little pies are so cute! Did you get the recipe from Becca? I remember her talking about making tiny pies for Valentine’s Day. If I was ambitious in the kitchen at all I would try them because they look so stinking good. Problem is, I have no kitchen ambition whatsoever.

  25. I really love this idea! What a great way to see what we actually do in a day 😉 I keep reading about that bracelet! Currently planning a trip to Home Depot the moment my day ends.

Thanks for sharing your day with us!

    xoxo

  30. I have GOT to make it out to Portland someday soon! Looks like a beautiful day 🙂

  31. That’s a crazy busy day. You did a lot. I am really loving the braided hexnut bracelet. Any thoughts about making me one, lol!

My BFF recently made me a couple of ribbon bracelets and I love them. Handmade is the way to go.

  32. Oh my goodness. I LOVE Newmans O’s. Simply the best with a glass of cold milk.

  33. What a cool idea. It’s nice to be able to see what someone does on an average day, and congrats on becoming a contributor!!

  34. You’re day looked so intriguing, and I’m absolutely loving that bracelet you’re going to be making. What a cool idea! You should make this a weekly feature.
