fill in the blank friday.

This week has been incredibly busy!  So glad it’s Friday and time for some blank filling.  If you want to play along, just fill in the blanks over at your blog and then link up here using the link at the end of this post.
1.   Fridays are       meant for being lazy – eating take out and watching movies at home with Craig. I think I’m an old lady, but I’m totally ok with it. We do go out sometimes on Fridays, but mostly we just love staying in  .

2.    people in love, weedy flowers, inside jokes, sunny days and peach iced tea    make me terribly happy.

3.  Something that inspires me is     reading/watching movies about people who overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. I love movies like “The Pursuit of Happyness“. It’s stuff like this that reminds me not to get too overwhelmed by the little things I want to accomplish   .

4.  If I had the day off today I would     stay in bed until noon and then catch up on magazines while eating a dutch baby and drinking espresso. Then I might take the afternoon to go watch Bill Cunningham New York with my friend Jamie. I had a really busy week, so all I want to do is relax  .

5.  If I had to put a label on my home decor style, I would say my style is    “rustic modern kitsch” – as coined by Craig. He decided to label our styles a’la Emily Henderson while we were watching “Secret’s From a Stylist” last weekend. My style diagnoses courtesy of Craig really is pretty right on. I love clean, modern lines, but I also like things that have a story and a patina – and as I’ve mentioned time and again, I love me some tchotchkes, which resulted in “rustic modern kitsch” :). Oh…and in case you were wondering, Craig and I have similar aesthetics. His self-style-diagnosis was “rustic modern Texas ranch”…because he likes big open spaces and oversize comfy furniture. He has a huge crush on Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond’s ranch. True story  .

6.  Concerning politics I would say I’m       a republicrat. I’m pretty moderate and don’t stick to one party when voting. I think both Republicans AND Democrats have some serious problems. In general I like the social programs that Democrats propose, but I wish they were run more like businesses (which is the Republican viewpoint) so that more could be done with the same amount of money    .

7.  I’d like to go to       Mexico      so I could       lay on the beach drinking cocktails in the sun – sure beats the cold! .

What are you up to this weekend?

  1. Cute! You always say things I would say! haha, i don’t want to copy cat and make myself think of other things :-p

  2. I love that Craig watches HGTV with you. Ian tends to share most of my interests (i.e. shopping, hair, etc.) but he makes it very clear that he hates watching HGTV! Hahaha!

  3. Pursuit of Happyness is seriously the BEST movie! I watched it a lot when I was unemployed last year and it gave me so much hope.

  4. hehe! Peach iced tea makes me happy too!! 🙂
    Have a wonderful weekend friend!!

  5. Sleeping in and beach at the beach both sound like wonderful ideas!!

    Happy Easter!

  6. I just have to steal your answer to No.3 because those are exactly my thoughts as well 🙂
Have a nice Easter weekend ♥

  7. Can I just say that I love the term “republicrat”? I am totally going to use it from now on to describe my own political views. THANKS!
