april showers bring may flowers.

I am so excited that flower season is here.

This last Saturday I attended a flower class taught by Chelsea Fuss of Frolic! and I had such a lovely time.  Here are a few photos from my afternoon….

{The spread.}

{lilac, hyacinth, muscari, sweet pea, anemone,
ranunculus, freesia, myrtle and bruneria.}

{Sam from Unconventionally Beautiful is a bouquet making pro!}

{sorting flowers by variety and color}

{pretty garden shears + notebooks}

{finished bouquet + delicious rhubarb raspberry galettes}

{finished bouquet close-up}

{Check out more (and much lovelier) photos by Chelsea
over at Frolic! and on her Flickr.}

Chelsea put on a lovely class and if she hosts another I’d definitely recommend it.  I learned so much!  Not only did I learn how to make a French hand-tied bouquet, but I also learned a ton of tricks to get the most life and beauty out of my flower arrangements.  Little tricks like fully submerging flowers in hot water to revive them if they’re starting to wilt.  Who knew?!  I love spring and the flowers it brings (*note…that rhyme was totally unintentional).

Excited to enjoy spring even further
today as I head to the zoo with Becca and Bennett!
