some weekends are uneventful.

This weekend was not full of exotic excursions or culinary delights,
but we enjoyed it nonetheless.
(We did actually have have our friend’s Bobby & Lindsey over for dinner on Friday night, but my carnitas tacos aren’t exactly fancy, so I’m not sure it counts – but we did have fun with them.)
I took zero photos.
OK.  That’s a lie.  I did take one:

These are the gorgeous poppies that were in my yard before Marley ran into them with her jumbo tail and killed them.  Good thing I love her….or something ;).
Said photo was taken prior to the back-breaking all-day task of barkdusting our yard.  To reward ourselves afterward we went to watch the Timbers soccer game and have pub food.  We were supposed to go to a movie after dinner, but I was so tired, I persuaded Craig to go home and watch DVR’d shows instead (apparently I’m not built for manual labor).  Subsequently as you can imagine, my Sunday was completely lazy as well and I didn’t get out of PJ’s until after noon.  And you know what?  I’m ok with that :).  Shoveling barkdust and spreading it on hands and knees is a lot of work – but at least our yard looks pretty!
So….since our weekend was a low key one, please feel free to regale me with tales of your exciting weekend!

xo

  1. Heyy Lauren! i’m doing a mini blog Happiness Project where blogs are sharing one little thing that makes them happy. I thought i’d push the boat out and ask my most favourite daily reads so i’d be really pleased to hear what makes you happy if you’d like to take part?! 🙂

  2. That poppy is gorg!

I went to a baseball game on Friday. ^^ Unfortunately we got rained out so I didn’t actually see it go on, but it was nice to get out of the house and chow down on free ballpark food!

  3. If it makes you feel better, my weekend was also uneventful! haha
    I loved it though!
    I could rest and relax!

  4. My weekend sounds like yours. It was the first time in a while that it wasn’t crazy busy, so I just went with it. And I didn’t even carry my camera around. And I may have slept for three hours in the middle of the day Saturday. 🙂

  5. I think lazy, simple weekends can be good for the spirit. Often times, even when my weekend is eventful, I get caught up in the moment and I forget to take pictures for my blog!

  6. You’re probably the cutest. Yes, I’ve decided. You’re the cutest.

This weekend I…had dinner out with friends on Saturday night then went out for some froyo. And Sunday included tennis, baking, eating, major blogging efforts, twitter tweetelating and Flight of the Conchords.

    I’ve deemed it a success.

  7. Some weekends need to be low key, complete with staying in PJs for most of the day. It’s good for the soul!

  8. Hmmm. Ours was pretty low-key too. No extreme tales here:-) We’ve been super busy though, and this was probably one of the last weekends to be lazy for us, before life gets reallllly busy! Annnnd, now I’m craving tacos:-) xoxo

  9. Lauren,
What kind of photo app do you use on your iphone? Your pictures always look gorgeous!

  10. Those poppies are beautiful! Wow, spreading barkdust by hand all day sounds miserable.

  11. I had a totally great weekend! (http://acollectionofpassions.blogspot.com/2011/06/wonderful-weekend-aunt-sue-edition.html)

..although, sometimes a nice quiet weekend is just the thing!
