summer camp was my favorite.

Did any of you attend summer camp as kids?
Well….I did.  And I loved it.
In my humble opinion nothing quite compares to the awesomeness of coming up with silly camp names, making crafts a’la pioneers, and cooking food inside a can over a fire.  If only I could re-live such childhood awesomeness as an adult, I would be a truly happy camper (pun completely intended).

Well, if the The Looplore Experiment has their way, adults in Oregon will be able to re-live the childhood magic of summer camp one again.  Watch this video to learn more about their project.

They’re trying to raise money through kickstarter, so if you’d like to donate to the cause of never getting old and always playing like a kid, then go here.
AND…in the spirit of The Loophole Experiment, might I suggest doing one thing today that gets you in touch with your inner-child.  Have a popsicle.  Jump rope.  Color.  Do something child-like and let me know what you did and I’ll do the same (although, I definitely have the advantage, because I work with three and four year olds who let me act like a kid anytime I want :).

  2. I love this. I’ll be skipping to work this morning. 🙂

  3. Although I didn’t go to summer camp, I totally believe in nurturing your inner child. That would be why I’m in hula hoop class 🙂

  4. After seeing “day camp” in the title I was rather relieved to come and see that this post did not include any super embarrassing pictures of me. Haha.

  5. An adult summer camp? Now that is awesome! I never went to camp as a kid but all I picture if It Takes Two and Babysitter’s Club movie. They made me want to go to summer camp!

  6. I wish I had gone to camp! I was always too shy but I so wish now that I’d gone at least once.

  7. So awesome! What a fun idea.

  8. I thought the video was cute with all of the construction paper cut outs and clay that they used. Do you know the ladies who put Looplore together? It really is a great idea.

  9. That actually looks really fun! I went to camp every summer and there was nothing better! I loved making lanyard creations…remember those? haha I was a cool kid.

  11. Totes had a popsicle! Orange flavored. Go for it!

Also, thanks for the heads up – these people are awesome, clearly.

  12. I loved summer camp. You just magically are close with people then. You see them in a different light. That’s a cool idea to do it with adults.

  13. school camp was definitely one of my favourite times of the year, like a giant sleepover with activities and milo for breakfast. Awesome.
