enjoying the last of the little things.

Reality is settling in….
I’m going to be a parent sometime in the coming weeks and therefore, I should probably stop and enjoy the “last of the little things” before I’m too sleep deprived/don’t have the time to enjoy them for a little while.  Things like….
Hanging out with friends for a coffee date without having to plan around nap schedules and without schlepping around 25 lbs worth of baby gear in a giant diaper bag.

Sleeping in and just lazing in bed puttering around on instagram with no parental obligations.

Leisurely (quiet) breakfasts, just Craig and I.
Time wasting on Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
I know that once Fern arrives I probably won’t miss these little things, because our lives will be filled with a ton of even better new little things though and I can’t wait :).

  1. Aw, how exciting! My husband and I have been married a little over a year and we often talk of how being parents one day will be a huge change but a sweet change. Excited for you both! Enjoy your little things!

  2. It is so exciting that little Fern is almost here! Don’t be too sad about missing all the pinterest/facebook/intagram/twitter action because you will have plenty of time to keep up online during your many nightly feedings :)or you could zip through entire seasons of TV shows on Netflixs 🙂 I did both lol

  3. Congratulations to you! My little 9 week old niece is the best thing that ever happened to my family. She is just so precious. She is even starting to smile!

What an exciting year 2012 will be for you. Best wishes!

  4. The 25 lbs. in the diaper bag is SO true! Enjoy!

  5. You will love having mutual mama friends, messy breakfasts, annoying your facebook friends with a million pictures, and the new appreciation for date nights with only your man. Congratulations – you have a lot to look forward to 🙂

  6. it’s true. you probably won’t miss them, but be sure to soak them up anyway. i’m so excited for you! ps, we have the same bedspread! pretty sure this is a big deal. ha.

  8. Happy to see it’s all becoming real! You’ll still be able to enjoy the things you love, you’ll just have an extra bundle of joy around to enjoy them with you.

  11. How exciting!! And I have to admit that I spend hours in the morning on my days off playing in instagram and gazing at Pinterest until my head hurts!

  12. You will have a ton of fun new little things to get excited about. Also, I plan outings around feeding times as opposed to nap times. Sometimes its nice for her to sleep while we are out. Makes things a whole lot easier!

  13. One of the things that I miss the most from before I was a parent was the lounging around in bed. That never happens anymore, so definitely take advantage while you can!!

  14. I doubt you will ever miss those things, you’ll trade them for more fun (and not so fun) things. It’s what makes up Motherhood. :o) Blessings to you as you await the big day.
