fill in the blank friday.

Today I bring you the new and improved
Fill in the Blank Friday!

The format is a little different, but the idea is still the same.  There will still be blank filling, but instead of coming up with seven blanks each week there will only be one.  You may be thinking, “What?! What am I supposed to do with only one blank?!”  Well, let me explain….
I will be giving you a fill in the blank, a theme or a story starter each week and you’ll complete a blog post based on the prompt.  Kind of like a writer’s workshop.  Remember that when you were in school?  I always loved those!
I thought this would be a fun way to see how people make the post their own.  Feel free to add photos or whatever you want to personalize your post and then make sure you link back here as always so we can all check out each other’s posts!  So, without further ado, here’s this week’s blank….
…It is an outlet for me.  I started out because I wanted a place to share my crafty endeavors and because I’ve always enjoyed writing.  My first post was terrible, but I feel like my blogging has improved since then and I’ve sort of found my voice over time.  The ironic thing is that I almost never blog about craftiness anymore, because I realized that I’m not really that crafty…especially not compared to the sea of bloggers who crochet beautiful blankets out of dental floss and other such elaborate creations.  I do still like to write though and I’ve enjoyed all of the wonderful relationships, experiences and opportunities that blogging has afforded me.
Because of blogging, I met some of my closest friends and have even traveled to visit some of them (like these ladies, and this lady).  I met this wonderful friend who encouraged me to trust birth which was instrumental in my choice to have a drug-free water birth and thus an amazing birth experience.  I even reconnected with this lady who I had a group project with in college but totally forgot!
Because of blogging I have had the incredible opportunity to write for Babble’s parenting webiste and will soon be blogging for Disney.  This allows me to be able to stay home with Fern while still being able to help pay the bills.
Because of blogging I have been encouraged beyond measure.  I have grown in my confidence in myself – through writing and sharing with you all I have learned who I am and what is important to me. I have learned about true friendship.  I have grown in my faith.  This community of bloggers has changed my life in so many ways.  It may sound weird to a non-blogger (typically it does), but I couldn’t imagine my life without blogging.
Thank you for reading along with my journey.  I blog because of you all.
Totally sappy, but totally true :).
Hope you have a great weekend and I can’t wait to check out your posts!
xo
