unrequited pins.

Remember awhile back when I talked about my
plethora of unrequited pins?
Basically, I was talking about how I have approximately elevendy billion pins on Pinterest that will never come into existence.  Clothes I’ll never be able to afford/wear, DIY’s I’m never going to do, recipes I’m never going to make….I think you get the gist.
Well, I thought it was just about time for round 2,
so here goes…

Let’s be real; this would require me to find white jeans that didn’t fit for a good deal, then alter them to be a cuter fit, then buy Rit Dye, then actually dye the pants.  This sounds like a lot of work with a 4 month old around.  I’m envisioning my baby looking like a giant mint from getting into the dye somehow.  I think I’ll just stick to buying my jeans even though this is super cool.  Oh, also did I mention that this is pinned to my “Learning To Sew One Day” pin board?  Ha!!
This is cool, but would require sitting down with scissors which just sounds like a terrible idea since it would probably have to be done one-handed with a baby in my other hand.  Baby + close proximity to scissors + total klutziness = a bad choice.
Whoever designed this obviously has great taste, but also obviously has never stepped foot near a baby.  The button-up closures are actual buttons instead of snaps.  Dealing with little buttons during a diaper change sounds like a fiasco waiting to happen.
This is totally not happening on more than one level.  1.  It would require me to actually work out.  2.  It would require me to have the time and ambition to make it.  3.  It would require Oregon to have a bit of sunshine so I could actually wear it.  See…totally not happening.
This gives me hives just thinking of making these.  I’m sure they aren’t all that difficult if you enjoy baking/cooking for reasons other than sustenance, but I’ll just stick to a box of Klondike bars – sounds way more simple.

  5. If you think about making those brownie ice cream sandwiches let me know how they turn out. lol

    They look way too good.

  6. Yeah, buttons on baby clothes are super annoying, but that romper is pretty adorable.

  7. Mmmm those ice cream sandwiches…

  8. Haha! I love your comments about these! THANK YOU for having a level head when seeing all these cool things and for keeping your feet on the ground. 🙂

  9. Ooh…I want to make those Brownie pops! You are totally right about the jean dying thing, though. I dyed a pair of white, fabric ballet flats black last summer, and for a grown-up person with a moderate level of dexterity, it was still a big mess. I dyed them in an old, plastic mixing bowl that my mother had, which was a good idea, because that poor bowl was stained permanently. Also, when I poured the dye out, I did it in my mother’s laundry room sink, which also ended up dyed a weird shade of black. I apologized profusely and my mom said not to worry about it, but after all of that, my shoes were a little blotchy and faded over the next few months. Just buy the mint jeans…I’m sure they’re worth every penny of NOT dying your entire home and child green.

  10. hang out with me more and we will tackle some pins!!

  11. I’m laughing over here! okay… I lied. I’m not actually laughing… not on the outward at least. But inside I am! Hunter and Emerson are sleeping so I have to be quiet 😉
I love this/your post that is.
Wouldn’t it be cool if we had a whole week and $$$ given to us to make these things possible?!?!
    Just once?!

    Happy Hump Day friend!
    xoxo

  12. Oh I feel you… according to my Pinterest Boards, I’d be busy for the next 2235 days… at least 🙂

  13. Yes, this post makes me feel better about all the pins I’ve yet to even think about attempting. 🙂
