Today’s Fill in the Blank Friday is based on the fact that we’re going to the beach today. So, the prompt is…
“If I could get away for the day, I would go….”
To the beach.
Something about the beach just makes me feel like a kid again. I love going to the arcade and running around on the sand with Marley and eating ice cream. I also love the vastness of it. I love that the beach makes me feel small and reminds me of my Creator and the care he took in putting all of this beauty together. It’s pretty amazing when you stop to think about it.
The other reason I’d go to the beach, is because we’re on a pretty tight budget these days now that I’m staying home with Fern and the Oregon Coast is close enough that we can go for the day and head home…no hotel room required. I’m also REALLY excited for Fern to see the beach. I love seeing her face as she is learning new things about the world around her. It’s refreshing to see the excitement on her face, because everything she is seeing, she’s seeing for the very first time. Watching her see little fireworks on the 4th of July was the absolute cutest – she was totally mesmerized :).

If I could go away for the day, I would also go to a beach. I would take a private jet to a remote island and just relax oceanside, read a book, have a lobster lunch and some drinks. I’d watch the sunset and then off on the plane to return home.
I love the beach, it’s my pick too, although I have to go a bit further to find one!
