flower love.

One of my favorite things about summer is the endless availability of beautiful flowers. I can just go pick them out in my yard…hydrangeas, lavender, poppies, sedum. *sigh*…it’s quite lovely. I tend to gravitate toward flowers of a weed-y persuasion…things that are wild or green with an interesting texture, but overall, I just appreciate flowers that aren’t overly “done” and trying too hard because they’re already so beautiful on their own.
These are from a wedding, & I absolutely love the bride’s bouquet. I also love these yellow flowers. I think they’re called bachelor’s buttons, but I’m not quite sure.

Some of my favorites growing in my yard:
Sedum…super cute if you cut just one stem and put it in a bud vase.
Hydrangea. I love them. Sometimes I have them in every room.
Some others that I love….
Allium.
Queen Anne’s lace.
If you’re ever looking for cheap, natural looking, beautiful bouquets Trader Joe’s is the place to go. Seriously. Cheapest flowers. Ever. It’s my favorite.
I think I’m all flowered out for now. After all this writing about flowers I may have to pick up a bouquet on my day off :).
