saturday on sunday.

Yesterday was a busy day so I’m just going to post about Saturday on Sunday.  K?  K.

The morning started off with a coffee date to this cool little place here in Portland.  In case I haven’t told you before Craig is a total coffee snob.  Not that he’s in the minority here in Portland.  Everyone’s a coffee snob here.  Coffee and microbrews…that’s what we’ve got in Portland.  We have a fancy schmancy espresso machine at home and Craig would never dream of buying pre-ground coffee beans…that would be comparable to blasphemy.  Sue me for liking Starbucks Craig.  I feel like one of those closet binge eaters every time I have Starbucks…like I have to hide it.  I’ll try to throw away my cup while I’m out so he won’t notice it in the garbage, because if he does I’ll have to listen to him extol his convictions on the evil empire that is Starbucks.  I’m all for supporting local coffee roasters and local business in general, but I just like Starbucks.  I don’t like “real” coffee because it’s too bitter.  I like mine extra sugary so you can barely taste the coffee.  As you can imagine, we don’t do coffee dates very often because it’s hard to find somewhere that has coffee that both of us will like.  Enter:  Heart Roasters.  This coffee was legit.  They roast the coffee right there where you can watch, so you know it hasn’t been sitting on a shelf for ages, and it’s not super sugary, but not bitter and the shop was super cute too (added bonus for me).

(check out the guy roasting the beans…right there!)

After our date I came home and found a lovely little package on my front porch.  I love mail!  I ran inside and opened up the cute wrapping job to find some pretty treasures from my beautiful friend Kassi!

The lovely scarf she just posted about the other day is now my very own!
I love it!  I changed my outfit right away so it would match and I could wear it :).
She also send me this cute ornament she made.  Isn’t she so talented?
Thanks Kass!
After that I went to see a production of Cinderella (The Roger’s & Hammerstein version….like the one with Brandy and Whitney Houston in it which made me think of this) at a local theater with my friend Casey.  Her friend Ashley and my fellow bridesmaid in Casey’s wedding played the part of Cinderella.  She was amazing and it was so much fun!
Hope you’re all enjoying your last day of your weekend!

i am not a huge coffee fan, it is way too bitter for me and i would probably prefer your style with all the sugar and stuff 🙂 i LOVE chai though. holy crap if i could i would make love to it. i know, that sounds terrible but it really is that good. mmmm. my sister is kind of a coffee snob too except that she really likes starbucks. she is very picky though about her coffee! one time we went and got drinks and she had a latte and i had a chai and we got them mixed up and i sipped hers as i was getting out of the car and she realized it was hers but told me when it was too late. haha, i spit it out all over the parking lot. it was pretty funny 🙂

anyway, loved this post. your weekend sounds awesome. and your ring? BEAUTIFUL. i love it. you are so gorgeous lauren!!

  5. anastasya – all the pictures are mine unless i put a link to them (usually below the photo). all of these are mine. i just like to play around with photography. i took a photo class all throughout high school, but these are just taken with my iphone and not an actual camera. i have an app called “shake it” that turns the pictures into polaroids. it’s my favorite. thanks for stopping by!

  6. wish i can relate to all coffee drinkers. unfortunately, coffee makes me tired and dizzy instead of the other way around! i guess i am naturally caffeinated like the energizer bunny! i love getting stuff in the mail, too! awesome scarf and i like that you changed outfits to create the perfect photo opp 🙂

  7. It sounds like you had a fun weekend. Thanks for posting Saturday on Sunday-I REALLY miss when you don’t post, but I do understand that you have a life too. PS- I really REALLY freaked out when I saw the title of your most recent post. Frick. You have to stop doing that to me Lauren!

  11. I’m so jealous!! Roger and Hammer & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is my favorite!! I think I’ve watched the movie with Brandy over 20 times (which is amazing for me as I can’t bring myself to watch most movies twice!)
