fill in the blank friday.

Fill in the Blank Friday is back faithful followers.  I’m not sure if I should keep doing it every week.  I feel like I’m going to run out of questions.  How would you guys feel about every other week Fill in the Blank Fridays?  I’d love some feedback.

If you want to play along with this little game, just fill in your own blanks on your blog and then link back here at the bottom of the post so we can all check out your answers.  Now let’s fill some blanks!

1.  My dream vacation would be       a trip to South Africa to see the World Cup this year with Craig.  I think South Africa would be a really cool place to visit and even though I’m not super into soccer, I’d love to witness the phenomenon that is soccer (everywhere else besides the U.S.) and I know Craig would love it, which would make it even more fun for me.   .

2.  The best trip I’ve ever taken was      my trip to Kenya.  One of these days I really will blog more about it, but long story short:  it was rad.  We didn’t do anything touristy and hung out in the slums most of the time, but I’d rather get to know the people and culture of a country than the tourist attractions anyway .

3.  The most important items to take on a road trip are       motion sickness tablets, good music and snacks   .

4.  The next trip I’m looking forward to is       the one I’m taking next Thursday to meet Kassi, Brandi & Danielle live in person in California.  I am beyond excited!  I think I’m going to miss Craig a lot though because we’ve never spent more than one night apart in the two and a half years we’ve been married and that’s only happened twice.  I’m sure he’ll survive without me though  .

5.  If I had to pick one CD to listen to for a long road trip it would be     Hmmmm….that’s tough.  Probably a mix CD with cheesy show tunes.  I love singing show tunes on road trips.  OK…mainly just from “Annie” but still….   .

6.  The biggest disaster I’ve ever encountered while traveling  was      on our family road trip to Southern California right after I graduated high school.  Our car broke down in pretty much the worst part of Oakland, but my dad was cheap and made us push it to our hotel (which was a little less than a mile away) through scary back alleys.  I thought we were going to get mugged.  Nothing against Oakland, but this was a really sketchy area in the middle of the night.  True story:  we stayed in a Motel 6 there with huge walls and barbed wire and bullet proof glass at the front counter…tell me that’s not sketchy?   .

7.  My favorite traveling memory is      my first real road trip with Craig to Vancouver B.C.  We (OK….I…) made up silly songs and raps and even came up with rap names for us.  Mine was “Sweet ‘n Lo” and his was “C-Flat”.  I do silly things on roadtrips      .

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

  1. It’s nice to have you back from your break. 🙂
As far as fill in the blank friday’s go, I say it’s totally your call. If you want to go every other week, then I think you should. But if you want help with ideas, I bet we could all help you with those too!
I love participating and also reading everyone’s answers, so I’ll be sad if you stop doing it altogether.

  2. haha silly rap names are the best! my psuedo step sister (long story) and I used to do all sorts of crazy stuff like that in the car. But then again, we were kids 🙂

  3. I love reading every body’s FIBF’s – perhaps if you’re running low on questions you could get a couple of blog ladies to do guest FIBF posts.

  4. I love Fill In The Blanks Friday but if you feel it’s getting too much, just do it when you feel like it! 🙂

    x

  5. Dedication ♥ welcome back.

Honestly? The world probably won’t stop turning if FITBF goes fortnightly…hey, its your blog and your life, do what you want with it!

  6. I’ve totally wondered how you think of all these questions every week! You could always have guests come up with some too!

  7. you should have people submit their own fill-in-the-blank creations and you can use those! it might be a little more to manage but i think everyone would love to help you and would love to get creative 🙂

  8. omg. you broke down in oakland? thats seriously sketchy. i live right next to oakland so i really understand!!

ps where in california are you going??

  9. Haha I cannot believe your dad made you push the car! That’s sorta funny (thank goodness you didn’t get mugged)!

  10. I love fill in the blank fridays but having them every other week would be good 🙂

  11. I absolutely love FIBF, and would love if you kept it up each week, but completely understand if you don’t want to. Whenever you do it, I’m happy to play along, whether it’s once a week or once a month!

  12. this is such a fun one!
you’ll be waking up in california this time next week! yay!
you can tell craig he can come too – dan can take him surfing! and we’ll make sure that you are having so much fun that you wont miss craig at all 😉
if you change fill in the blank to every other friday you may not get as many link ups… because people start to forget about it or get confused with the weeks so already have a post that day… but if you don’t mind how many link ups you get, then do it! i’m all about blogging for yourself (when you can, when you feel inspired, etc… life comes first)
    love ya.
    xo. thanks.

  14. That Kenya trip sounds awesome! I would love to go there and see it! Have fun in Cali!

  16. Love the travel-themed fill in the blank! Yay!

I’m ok with every other week if that’s what you want to do. I have another Friday series I do, so I could alternate between the two, which I think readers would appreciate. Mix it up a lil!

    Have a good weekend, hun.

  17. Yay! Welcome Back! 🙂

  18. I love singing on roadtrips. So much fun!

  19. Welcome back. It’s totally up to you whether or not you wanna do this once every other week…we’ll be all back, I’m sure! 🙂

    xoxo

  20. I would love to visit South Africa too! Definitely a bucket list kinda thing!

  21. I love Fill in the Blank Fridays and I think it would be completely okay with every other week 🙂 All of use look forward to it so much, we’ll look forward to it even more when it’s the “off” week 🙂 It’s good to have you back btw!!

Your answer to #1 brought me back to Summer 2006 – one of the best summers of my life! I went to Germany to stay for two months and it happened to be the same time the World Cup was going on and as luck would have it Germany was the host country that year!! It was def a once in a lifetime experience to be there when all of that craziness was going on 🙂 I have the time of my life!!!! 🙂 It’s def. a phenomenon!!! A religion and a way of life that was SO amazing to observe since soccer is NOTHING like that here in the states. I LOVED every minute of it 🙂

I loved reading your answers! Great questions this week – thanks love!

  22. haha, i love that you listen to show tunes! i’m that way with grease, though. man, i could sing those songs all day every single day for the rest of my life.

i’m going to miss chris, too (and of ourse flojo and the kitties…big time), but we’ll have lots of fun! the most time chris and i have spent apart is three days, but i think it’s a good thing because the reunion is oh-so-sweet! he even had dinner ready when i got home from my little trip (and i’m hoping for a repeat this time).

  23. YES to the World Cup and South Africa!!! How amazing would that be?? 🙂
