thrifting is my favorite.

Did a bit of thrifting last week.
Here are some of my finds…..

a fun patent leather purse.

Sperry wannabes.  I love them.

a cute little pleated skirt….
that I accidentally washed the pleats out of.
Hopefully the dry cleaners can fix this,
because I don’t even own an iron!

and my favorite find: a teeny, tiny turquoise ring.
I love the juxtaposition of this.
Usually turquoise is chunky and big,
but I love that this is small.
So unexpected!

And the best part….
All of these things were found for around $20!!!
I was pretty stoked.

I also got a cute new shirt that wasn’t thrifted, but I love it:
Thank you Old Navy for being cheap and cute!

Have you found any fun treasures thrifting lately?
What do you tend to buy when thrifting?
I usually stick to housewares, but I came away with all clothes on this trip!
Go figure!

  1. fun!
i love th skirt on you – i hope the dry cleaner can fix it because it’s super duper cute!
    xo thanks
    xo thanks

  2. ooooo i Love thrifting! although here in blighty it’s Charity shops, i buy anything and everything, books, clothes, homeware.
While i was away at the weekend at an airshow i bought quite a bit of vintage costume jewellery, i love that there’s a story behind the item, and hey we’re doing our bit for recycling! 🙂

  3. Oooh, I love that ring! Awesome find 🙂

  4. so cute!
i used to have those shoes, but in red. : )

i’m going back to my hometown for a couple of days and i’ve got plans to go thrifting with a few friends in our town and then a couple towns over because they have way more there.
    i’m super excited!
i think when i go i typically look for stuff i’ll use around the house.
but lately i also look for lots of other things, since i’m looking to open my own vintage store. : )

  5. such great finds! I especially love the turq ring.

I usually look for jewelry and handbags as well. but depends on the thrift store.

    xox

  6. Awesome finds!! Whenever I go thrifting I tend to look for clothes and always end up finding books … I have so many books, I really don’t need to be buying more … but can never resist!! 😉

  7. I’ve not been thrifting, but I did go to my first antique mall. Oh, and I’m in love. 🙂

  8. I’m loving all of your finds – especially the ring! Thrifting is one thing that i definitely miss!! That, and “garage sailing”! I’ve found amazing things through both. Some of my most interesting art pieces were found via garage sales, and several cool household items & clothes were thrift shop finds.

I live in Brazil, now, and there is no such thing. I’ve tried explaining the concept, but usually just get a blank stare [of disbelief]. It’s due to the difference in socio-economics, so it won’t ever translate (unless they get to visit and see the way we do it, for themselves).
    🙂

  9. first, i want to say that i love you even more for not owning an iron! ironing is so overrated, and to me it’s just like a symbol of women’s oppression! throw the stuff in the dryer and let that take care of the wrinkles!

i like your thrifting finds. i actually looked at an outfit last night on a blog, and she was wearing a pleated skirt, which is somethng i’ve never though of getting before, but maybe i should! i wish i could go thrifting with you!

    xoxo, almost birthday girl!

  10. I love all of your finds! I REALLY love the ring..

  12. what great finds!! i really like the pleated skirt & shoes! i am definitely due for a thrifting trip… and apparently a trip to old navy! i love simple t-shirts with pretty embellishments.

  13. I have never really gone thrifting, which is kind of sad. I really want to start though.

  14. fun! I haven’t been thrifting since high school, but lately the urge has hit again 🙂

  25. I really like that skirt, it’s super cute. I never really thought about washing pleats out of a skirt, but that totally makes sense! I also want to steal your shoes. I’ve been looking for boat shoes like that for a long time!

  26. When I read the title of your post I read it in a buddy the elf voice b/c i know you love some Will F humor. I thrift EVERYTHING i can. I post thrifted items every Tuesday. love love love it. I have the bad habit of purchasing every J Crew item I come across in Goodwill … sometimes even if its not my size.

  27. Love the skirt! I didnt know you could wash out pleats?! If you do get an iron – Rowenta brand can move wrinkle mountains! 🙂

  28. i washed the pleats out of my khaki shorts 🙁 but i kind of fixed it with my iron. kind of. i need to find a thrifted purse!

  29. Great finds! That ring really is so dainty and pretty… I adore turquoise. It’s a such a fun blue to wear…
