fill in the blank friday.

Today’s blanks are obviously going to be New Year’s themed.

I know.
Obvious.
But I’m OK with it.
(If you want to play along, just fill in the blanks on your blog and then link back here!)

1.   New Year’s is (awesome/lame/other)       kind of lame. It’s kind of like Valentine’s Day.  You always feel like you should be doing something way cooler than what you actually end up doing…although I do love a good excuse to wear sparkles 🙂   .

2.  Last New Year’s Eve I   went to a party at some friends’ house. It was lovely and low key  .

3.  My New Year’s resolution is       1) to learn how to do my hair and makeup and 2)to eat more whole foods (more “real foods” really).  I’m actually doing a 30 day challenge over at Ground Rules – a blog I’m a part of along with Lisa Warninger of Urban Weeds, Chelsea Fuss of Frolic and a lot of other lovely ladies where I’ll be documenting my adventures with hair and makeup via daily vlogs     .

4.  The best way to spend New Year’s Eve is   with friends in a low-key environment   .

5.  My prediction for an up-and-coming trend in 2011 is       hopefully not overalls. Anything but overalls. I know some people have tried bringing them back already, but just don’t. It wasn’t good then and it won’t be good now. Also scrunchies. No, no and NO! I’m talking to you American Apparel!  .

6.  This New Year’s Eve I will        be staying in with friends at our house, eating homemade soup and bread and drinking delicious sparkling wine while watching movies     .

7.  A fresh start is       nice to have, but I think it’s a little silly to wait for the first of the year to give yourself permission to do the things you want to do, but I get it. I think it’s important to remember that you can start over whenever you want. Don’t get discouraged!         .

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend
and a fun New Years!

  1. Happy New Year Lauren! I had planned to spend tonight alone but some friends have come to my salvation – it does mean though a picnic with about 30,000 other people! Wow. I’ve loved reading your blog this year x

  2. This year, I started joining your Fill-In-The-Blank-Friday meme. Thank you for coming up with it. I always look forward to these. Here’s to more of them in 2011. Have a fab New Year’s Day celebration, Lauren. You Rock!

  3. Scrunchies at American Apparel? Seriously? That’s just sad.

    Happy NYE Lauren!

  4. I’m so pathetic with hair and make up. I’m excited to follow along your journey. Maybe you can teach me a few things. Also, overalls are kind of terrible and scrunchies are the worst!

  5. Lauren you are the BEST!!!!!!!! You are honest and I love reading your fill in the blanks. This year Marc and I rang in the New Year with friends and fam, made homemade sushi, had pizza and bubbly and had a fun game of beer pong. Ahhh! I have some good news for you … think … a visit so very soon. I will call you tomorrow at some point to chat about our endeavor, a visit etc. Hugs and Love! Happy New Year!

  7. This is a great idea, the fill in the blanks concept. Looking forward to checking out your future posts. I was directed over here, by the way, from Jessees’s spot so she deserves the commission check (based on normal blogger income, I’d guess that’s about .00005 cents!) Good luck in 2011!

  8. love these!
