nice package.

Gift wrapping is a pain.

Especially when you’ve already put careful consideration and time into hand making your gifts…wrapping those gifts is the last thing you want to do.  Or at least….it’s the last thing  I want to do….perhaps I’m just projecting.

BUT….the truth is….the wrapping is half the fun for the gift receiver.  My mother-in-law is a testament to this, because every year she wraps each little stocking stuffer that goes into the stockings and it’s always way more fun than just dumping out everything at once.

So, my philosophy with wrapping is:  Go big or go home.  And by that I mean, if you’re going to wrap a gift you might as well do it well.  That means none of that shiny, cheap looking wrapping paper with Rudolph and gingerbread men on it.  No curling ribbon bows.  No pre-made “to: from:” tags.  A little bit of time can make your presents look a WHOLE lot better.

Their wrapping is so lovely!

Happy wrapping!

  1. These are so lovely that I wouldn’t want to open them. This is where the gift wrap is so much better than the pressie.

    Have a great weekend Lauren!

  2. I love wrapping. I usually just use wrapping paper and thats all, this year I want to try bows and other cute items to make my wrapping really stand out. Thanks for posting the links:)

  3. i’m quite obsessed with perfectly wrapping each package!! love all of these – especially loving bakers twine. just got some myself.

  4. Love these photos! Wrapping is actually one of my favorite things about the holidays – I’m obsessed. Thanks for all the inspiration!

  5. Oh my gosh those are so totally gorgeous!

  6. I love to wrap pretty presents! These are GREAT ideas!

  7. ooohh.. confessions.. i usually wrap with tin foil.. yes the kind you have in the kitchen.. because it’s easy and always there.. however, this post has opened my eyes.. i am loving the packaging! hope you are awesome! xxoo

  8. i am a gift wrapper. i once told my mom that i’d be a gift wrapping lady. then she said i better get started and practice. she never let me use the “real” wrapping paper when i was little, but when she wrapped presents in the other room, she gave me empty boxes and tons of newspaper. that’s how i learned, i like the little folds that i make in each presents and this modern day has made it even more fun because of little trinkets and type of materials you can use! are you ready for the civil war? we are! and a group of us will be in orange and black today (okay, maybe just an OSU scarf for me, ha ha).

  9. wow i love these! i agree – even if you do use rudolph paper and curly ribbon (because most people do), it’s still gotta be neat.

    pretty pretty! :]

  10. These are gorgeous– and I do love unwrapping presents.

(However, I am still a big fan of curling ribbon bows!) 🙂

  11. great post! great ideas! i’m thinking i’ll be re-wrapping a lot of my gifts!

  12. oooo love the look of that site. I agreee it’s Alllllll about the packaging my dear 🙂 This year i have some vintage lace and buttons to add to mine 🙂

  13. I hope you wrap all my Christmas gifts up all pretty and nice. Thanks in advance friend! But don’t worry about wrapping the new bike you probably bought me. It’s too awkwardly shaped. I’ll just take it as is.

  14. I love these! Very inspiring, perhaps I will move beyond reusing boring old gift bags this year!

  15. i hate wrapping and packaging with ever fiber of my being. i mean, i can’t even describe how much i hate it, and i hate it more when businnes gets busy because i feel like i do nothing but package! anyway, it is definitely fun to unwrap, though!

  16. I agree – it does speak volumes about how you wrap a gift! You can tell when it was done in a rush. Since I live in a big house with a big family, it is kind of expected to have a messily-wrapped gift, but hey, its a part of the charm to me. But when I recieve or give a beautifully wrapped box, it feels amazing. Great pictures!

  17. I like shiny Christmas paper. Maybe not Rudolph but trees and snow flakes and what not are pretty to me.

  18. This is a great post, so many ideas on how to make a present look really nice (especially if it’s a crappy present).

It’s inspired me to take the time to make my presents look nice. I haven’t bought Christmas gifts in two years because my hubby and I usually “skip” Christmas but since we are in town this year…I am trying to make an effort.

  19. Last year I was just terribly lazy with wrapping. I literally went to the Dollar Tree and grabbed a crap ton of gift bags. I’m planning on improving it this year. I have no idea how I am going to wrap gifts yet though. I don’t even know how I am going to find the time to finish making gifts! But, I’m excited to come up with something pretty. Those photos are great inspiration!

  20. Oh wow, those are amazing. I like wrapping presents, but I don’t wrap them like that. I kind of like the idea of using plain paper to wrap and jazzing it up with other things.

  21. I love wrapping presents…probably more than I do picking them or making them. Brown paper is my absolute favourite! And using metal wire as a ribbon looks awesome if you have an awesome card. Quirky wins.
