the hair whisperer.

Yesterday I took my hair to the hair whisperer.
Her name is Lindsey Strand
and she is a genius.
She works at Amoré Salon & Spa in the Pearl District in Portland
and I cannot say enough good things about her.

I hadn’t had a haircut in a year and I was definitely due.  OK….well beyond due, but that’s not the point.  The point is that Lindsey made my hair look awesome.  It has the most body I think it’s ever had….like ever.  Also, it’s the first time I’ve ever gotten a haircut where the stylist actually worked with my hair instead of against it.  She also left my length, which is something that most stylists don’t.  I feel like they always get super snip happy and leave me with significantly less hair than I had intended to leave with.

I will definitely be entrusting my hair to Lindsey from now on :).  If you’re in the Portland area and are looking for someone to pretty up your hair, definitely give her a call!

  1. Your hair looks gorgeous! I don’t think I have ever gone to a hair stylist that could create exactly what I envisioned. I’m glad you found somebody!!

  2. This makes me want to fly to Portland for my next haircut. It looks fantastic!

  3. it looks SO GOOD! I know what you mean about stylists going nuts with length. I’m pretty bad at keeping up between haircuts and when I was in hs my hair lady would always cut off SO MUCH! Now my stylist listens to me and she’s amazing, she actually sounds a lot like yours! lol

  4. looks great! i so wish my hairs held curls.

  5. Looks great! I am definitely due for a hair cut as well, now that I think of it…

  6. It looks beautiful. So shiny and healthy too.

  10. I LOVE your hair!! I agree, stylists ALWAYS get a little too scissor happy for my taste and I have to reeeeally watch them! ugh! But yours turned out BEAUTIFUL!!!! I LOVE it!!! xo

  11. You look beautiful! I LOVE IT! I need to do something with my hair as its just blah right now. 😉

  12. Your hair looks amazing!!

Isn’t it the most wonderful thing to finally find someone you can actually trust to do your hair? It’s seriously harder than finding the perfect bikini… lots of searching, lots of disappointing cuts.

i’m actually going to be up that way in May, perhaps I will make a little appointment with Lindsey. she definitely looks talented!

  13. you look smokin’ hot, woman!

i still haven’t found anyone who really listens to me when i tell them how i want my hair, and i’m not picky either, just a little trim and a few long, thin layers just to add a little something. i always get the women who are scissor crazy and take off all my length or cut layers above my chin which i do not consider long! you’re lucky to have found a hair magician!

  19. ah how I wish I could finally find a hairdresser who I actually adore. Your hair looks greats!

  20. I’ll have to keep her in mind, she did a great job on you! I’ve been looking for a good stylist ever since my go-to salon in Portland shut down after I had been going there for YEARS (sad)! And I’m hesitant to get attached to one in Seattle because I see a move back to Portland in my future… 🙂

  21. I am so jealous of all that hair! it looks beautiful!

  22. I’ve been reading your blog for a little bit now and just realized you are from Portland as well. So I thought I’d say hello. Hello 🙂

    Cute hair btw!

  23. whisperer or no whisperer, you have fabulous hair! beautiful 🙂

  24. Shoot girl! It looks beautiful! Isn’t it fun to have that hair-epiphany moment. The clouds part, sunlight streams down, and the birds sing. If only we would’ve known back then what we know now about our hair:-)

  25. Dear Lauren, I think we are hair twins, minus the color. You’re hair looks awesome. I’m glad you found someone that can work with curly hair. I’ll have to pass along the hair whisperer information, I think my sister is looking for someone.

  26. oooo cute hair! There’s nothing quite like finding a hairdresser that understands your hair is there!:)

  27. I need a good haircut! Maybe I will book an appointment when I am there. IT would be so worth it and I would get it done again when I come back in June. It looks amazing Lauren!!!!! XO!

  28. Your hair looks so incredibly gorgeous!
I’m in desperate need of a hair cut but keep putting it off…maybe I need to fly to Portland and get one!

  29. So pretty! I’m getting my hair cut and colored this Friday. Wish me luck…

  30. It looks beautiful. Hang onto that stylist!

  31. Now this is the hair that I want but no hairdresser seems to understand me when I tell them! They always cut far too much off too. I’m currently waiting for my hair to grow back from the last lopping it had.
Love that top by the way ♥

  32. I’m so glad you loved her! She’s amazing and since she just switched salons she is actually trying to build up her clientelle again…so this is the perfect way to do that! Everyone should call her (and she doesn’t charge a fortune either!) 🙂 Love her and your body-rific hair!

  33. Am absolutely loving your hair ..and whenever I’m in Portland I’ll make sure to visit her ..everyone can do with a good hairstylist and one who works with your hair ..aahhhhh !

  34. you have gorgeous hair!! I love the curls in it so much 🙂

  35. Its always so great when you can get your hair done by someone you trust.

  36. Beautiful hair! My first thought was “Strand. What an awesome name for a hair stylist.” 🙂
