weekends are lovely.

Weekends are lovely.
Mine included….

My dad’s birthday dinner at our house.  Carnitas tacos, coconut cake and Gentlemen Broncos.  Craig and my dad thought it was hilarious, but while it had funny moments I just couldn’t get into it.  Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood.  Or maybe it was lame.

Birthday breakfast at the Waffle Window with my beautiful friends James & Ash.  The 3 B’s was incredible – bacon, basil and brie on a waffle?  Yes please!  Then we got coffee at Heart and did some birthday shopping for Ash.  We have a little tradition where we take each other shopping for our birthdays and choose outfits to each other.  I like this tradition.

Church with our friends Chris & Becca.  Afterward Craig and I had date night.  Dinner at Violetta and then we saw True Grit.  I highly recommend True Grit.  Violetta?  Not so much.  It had so much potential, but ended up being super greasy and left me with a terrible stomachache :(.  Date night was a success overall though.

Sunday brunch with Becca & Lindsey.  Waffles with a plethora of topping options:  peanut butter, almond butter, nutella, bananas, strawberries & blueberry ginger compote.  Yum!  Afterwards we worked on Lindsey’s hair blog.  She’s the lovely lady who gave me my new haircut and soon she has a blog in the works all about hair and I’ll keep you posted so you can check it out when it’s up and running!  Then I did a little shopping with Becca, her hubby Chris and their little one Bennett.  Got some jeans at UO, but am having buyers remorse, so they might be going back on Tuesday.  We’ll see.  Wrapped up our weekend by finishing up season 5 of Dexter.  TV series always bum me out when they’re done for the season.  It’s like losing a friend or something.  Maybe I’m just weird like that though.

OK.  That’s it.

How did you spend your weekend?

  18. Ian and I are in the process of watching all episodes of “Friends” and I am already sad that we are on the last season… Spending at least an hour with them every night for the past couple months and then having them gone completely. For good… It just seems WRONG : (

    Ha.

And I loved meeting you on Saturday too! I like to say “I already knew you, I just hadn’t met you yet.” Hahaha. But seriously, your last few posts mention all these people that I know too and I kept thinking to myself “how do we know all the same people and have yet to meet each other?” Glad that’s taken care of now!

    That coconut cake looks amazing.

I agree, True Grit is fantastic.

I’ve only been to Violetta once and my food was really good, but Jeremy didn’t like his so much. I guess it’s hit or miss.

I drive by Heart all the time, but have yet to go in. Is it worth the stop?
