dim sum for everyone.

We have this book at my work called:
Ever since reading it I’ve wanted to have dim sum.  If only for the hum bao.  Sweet pork buns?  Sounds like heaven to me.  Craig and I tried to have dim sum when we were in China Town in San Francisco last September, but couldn’t find a place.  BUT….Friday night we hung out with Chris & Becca and I finally got to try hum bao!  We went to Jade Teahouse & Patisserie in Sellwood and while it wasn’t actually dim sum, it was delicious.  When Becca suggested this place, I was more than a little skeptical.  I was pretty sure Craig wouldn’t want to eat anywhere with the word “tea” or “patisserie” in it, being the steak and potatoes man that he is.  But I was wrong.  We tried a little of everything and shared family style.  I would definitely recommend having a meal here if you live in town.

The restaurant’s name was a bit confusing, because it was less tea house and more restaurant, but I’d love to come back and try some tea and a sweet treat.  I got the gluten-free chocolate and sea salt cookie for dessert.  Yum!

Did you try any new cuisine this weekend?
