outfit post: parks and pleats.

I heart pleats.

I bought this skirt last summer, before pleats had become all the rage.  When I first got it, I was still a little unsure if pleats were too “Catholic school girl” for my liking, but now I’m head over heels for them.  Bring on more pleats for spring!

t-shirt: Target
skirt: thrifted
belt: H&M
shoes: F21
bracelets: borrowed from my friend Jamie
earrings: Gypsy Chic

What’s your favorite trend for spring?

  1. these are so so cute! and fab outfit, love every bit!

  2. Cute!!!
    Love your earrings and shoes!!

  3. I love the skirt and belt combo. I thrifted a skirt like that on Friday, except it’s about ten sizes too big. I figured I could shrink it to my size ☺

  4. Seeing as how I actually was a Catholic school girl, pleats and I still have kind of a troubled relationship, but you look adorable!

  5. how adorable are those pictures?! as one who wore pleated skirts for 9 years of my life, i usually don’t find myself drawn to them, but that skirt is super pretty! plus, i’m in l-o-v-e with the gray and brown combo! i’m pretty sure gray is my new favorite color to wear, since it looks pretty with so many things, but isn’t dark and dreary like black!

    have a happy tuesday!

  6. The the pairing of the dressy pleated skirt with a basic tee, too cute!

  7. Love the earrings! At first I thought they were the extensions but I like the earrings better! Same look with less commitment.

  8. They look nice on you. I like them! And your skirt looks great! I wish I could look nice in an outfit like that.

  9. I LOVE those earrings!

  10. When I saw your earrings, I thought you had in feather hair extensions. Would you ever try those? I’ve got just one set int. My sister and I decided to try them out right when they were thinking about becoming big here on the East Coast.

  11. You look so pretty–love the jewelry and that skirt! I was looking for a full pleated skirt for Easter and couldn’t find one that I liked. Still on the hunt though…

I like wearing more flowers in the spring, especially on my headbands.

  12. you’re so pretty 🙂

  13. Cute outfit! I love those shoes!

  14. lauren, you always look so pretty and effortlessly stylish! i love the entire outfit, and i’m definitely going to look for those shoes the next time i go to f21; somehow i always forget to look at the shoes which is insane considering how much i love shoes!

i hope you’re having a good week so far, pretty lady! love you and miss you big time!

  15. fyi: you are stinkin cute!

  16. I want a pleated skirt so bad! I’m hoping I can find a cute one in California this week. That park looks beautiful, and you look beautiful in that outfit!

  17. Cute!! I am loving pleats right now!

Also, I think it would be really fun if I shot some outfit photos for you 🙂 I’m always looking for people to practice on! And you’re so dang cute!

And another also… Planning a Portland blogger meetup May/June and would LOVE for you to come! Interested?

  18. What a great find on the skirt!

  19. I am ALL about a cute skirt! Oh, and might I add how delightful it is that the 70ish styles are coming back. Hooray.

  20. The second to last photo of you is lovely!!!! And, can you send me the info on where you got those earrings again … I want them as a treat to myself for graduation. Sending you one big ole hug!! Miss you!!! Can’t wait for your visit!!!

  21. Loving pleats right now! Not too catholic school girly at all! But then again I did go to a Catholic School for 15 years!

  22. Cute skirt! I wish I could wear my pleated skirts. One has an elastic waistband so it totally fits still if I wear it up at my natural waist (above the bump). But, I don’t know…I think it looks kind of silly with the baby belly poking out under it.

  23. I’m absolutely obsessed with the fabric of your skirt and your awesome belt. Great ensemble!

  24. This reminds me I just bought a black pleated skirt that I am dying to wear. But, being that I live in Portland, the weather hasn’t allowed me to do so. Unless I want to freeze.

Loving the trend and it looks great on you!

    Best,
    Jessica

  25. really loving those shoes!!! its so hard for me to find shoes bc my feet are so narrow! so even if they fit the heel always slips!!!!! ERRRRRRRRRR!!!
you my friend keep getting prettier and prettier:)

  26. I love the length of the skirt. bring on the skirts!

  27. So cute – I can’t wait to go Spring shopping soon! Love your shoes!!

  28. I’m obsessing about my skinny belts. Good way to wear it! Got to go get myself a pleated skirt now.
