hallway fashions: layering at its finest.

It’s no secret that I love to layer.

BUT….only in recent years did I learn how to do so in a manner that doesn’t make me look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow man in “Ghost Busters”.  Here is one such example of thin layers.  Underneath my leggings I’ve taken to wearing fleece tights.  They’re from Fred Meyer and they’re pretty much the best thing ever – all of the warmth and none of the bulk.  I also wear thin camisoles underneath everything.  Final tip: choose your fabrics wisely.  I’m wearing flannel and wool – both excellent insulators if I do say so myself :).

Oh…and in case you didn’t know, I’m doing a 30 Day Challenge over at the Ground Rules Blog where I’ve challenged myself to doing my hair and/or makeup differently every day.  So far I’ve completed 7 days and this braided headband in today’s outfit post was inspired by Brandi over at Mucho Mucho Bueno Bueno.  Check out all of my hairstyles so far HERE.

  20. The braid is so cute, I’ve been trying the braids recently as well. It’s a lot easier than I expected!
Also, the fleece tights business is very intriguing. I am pretty much always cold so I think I should give that a try.
Oh, and I love Marley’s alert stance in that photo. Those ears are adorable 🙂

  21. I love your style. Looking at the pictures of you remind me that I need a skinny belt. I wish I had one for my outfit tomorrow. Too bad I live in the middle of nowhere of OR.

Layering took me awhile to get as well. Actually I actively resisted it because it was what every one else was doing.
