A few weeks ago, we took a trip down to California to visit family and to see my cousin Miranda show her pig for 4-H at the Santa Barbara County Fair. Basically Fern thought it was better than Disneyland (this is saying a lot because she LOVES Disneyland). It was so fun to see the little wheels turning in her head and she made the realization that all those farm animals from her books and puzzles were real, live, and massive!
The joy was practically exploding from her little heart as she made the rounds and got to pet so many of the animals. She got to see cows, turkeys, rabbits, chickens, goats, sheep, pigs and more!
And in honor of her day spent as an honorary farm girl, we chose an outfit that was what I would like to call “Farm Girl Chic”. I knew that these shorts that were sent to us by Duchess & Lion would be perfect and I planned this outfit long before we ever actually went to the fair. I know, I’m a little bit ridiculous, but I seriously love playing dress-up with my girl. These shorts ended up being the perfect choice and are totally a current favorite in our wardrobe – the elastic waistband makes them so comfy for Fern and the tribal pattern is so cool!
Anyway, here are some snaps from our day at the fair/Fern’s outfit. I have more from Day 2 at the fair that I’ll have to share next week. Still getting caught up on uploading photos. I’m having a tricky time uploading photos to WordPress as I get adjusted to the switch, so thanks for being patient!
