What Fern Wore: A Moonrise Kingdom Moment

…Then there was this one time when I got Fern this dress that was pretty much the toddler version of this dress from Moonrise Kingdom and obviously we had to have a photo shoot. I also happened to have a pair of antique binoculars and a little yellow suitcase like Suzy’s yellow suitcase. It was serendipitous. Now all we need is a friend with a little boy to whip up a Khaki Scout outfit so Fern can have a little friend who looks like Sam and we can take even more photos, because I’m a blogger…it’s what I do. #bloggerkidproblems

Now for a million photos of Fern.

  1. Oh my goodness gracious, Lauren. Way too cute!!!

  2. haha that’s so cute!! i like the use props. 🙂

    • Haha! The props are really because she won’t stand still long enough to get a photo taken. The props distract her long enough to keep her from running, which is why I often have props in her outfit posts…not just because I feel the need to overstyle everything :).

This is so ridiculously hipster it’s stupid. I’m sure your baby really enjoyed this experience…

    • Actually, she doesn’t mind getting dressed up and will often bring me clothes put on her throughout the day. Besides which, it’s just a silly little thing to do during the day – I’m not trying to be all serious about it. I gave her props because they made it more fun and she was totally obsessed with the binoculars and wouldn’t part with them for anything. We literally took pictures for five minutes and then went on a wagon ride and played at the park, so she was plenty happy. And aside from all of these things I’ve just detailed…it’s my blog. I write and share what I want. If you don’t like it, please feel free to read something else. I’m not forcing you to spend time on my blog.

  4. So this is just about the cutest thing ever. That dress!!! Lucas might be a future suitor 😉 xoxo

  5. This is so precious…I love it! I would do the same thing!
