Happy V-Day + Babymooning!

Happy Valentine’s Day from this cheesy, happy face!

This is the excitement that ensues when you give your child a Valentine’s Day sucker. It really is the little things people. I know one day it won’t be this easy to brighten her world, so for now I am relishing in the beauty of it.

In other non-Valentine’s Day related news…

Craig and I are heading out on a Caribbean cruise this weekend. It will be the first getaway we’ve had alone since before we became parents. I’ve had some emotional moments thinking about being away from my little one for so many days, but I know she’ll be in good hands. She’s staying with my parents and they always have so much fun. Plus, I packed her some little surprises for while I’m away…sort of like a little mini Advent calendar to open each day. I know she’s still too little to remember things like this forever, but hopefully she’ll remember the feeling of being loved by her mama.

Aside from knowing I’ll miss Fern like crazy, I’m getting pretty excited about our trip. Neither Craig or myself have ever been anywhere tropical and I always thought it would be kind of boring just sitting on the beach and reading books. We’re more “mountainy” type people (we spent our honeymoon in Whistler B.C. snowboarding). But, now that we’re tired parents? Well…let’s just say that sitting on the beach doesn’t sound so bad and I’m looking forward to actually reading my first book since Fern was born (I bought this book and this one just for the occasion).

So thankful that Craig’s parents invited us along (my brother & sister-in-law will be coming too!) and that my parents offered to take care of Fern!

I can’t wait to share all the photos and fun when we return, but until then things will be a bit quiet with a couple of scheduled posts here and there, so be on the lookout!

Happiest of Valentine’s Days and a lovely weekend to you all!
