What Fern Wore: OshKosh For Spring

It may still be raining here, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t anxiously anticipating the arrival of spring! Aside from the warmer weather and pretty plant life, I always look toward spring in anticipation of brighter colors, lighter layers, bare legs…and if not for my neutral loving self, at least for my toddler.

As Fern is getting older I’ve changed the way I dress her a bit. I still love a stylish outfit, but I also consider practicality far more than I did when she was younger. The truth is, toddlers play hard. They’re rough on their clothes and they outgrow things at an alarming rate, so I’m not into buying things that are too precious or that have special washing instructions…or that cost a fortune. While it’s true that I sometimes splurge on one or two special items in her closet at any given time, I try not to go too crazy with it, because I would like her to have some form of a college fund one day. I do have some priorities my friends.

All that was to say that we love OshKosh  around here, so we were pretty excited when they sent us a gift card to choose a few items from their spring collection! We may have received the card free of charge, but we definitely shop there often regardless, because 1) they have great prices/fantastic sales, 2) the clothes are super cute, 3) everything is really durable and well made. I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes with less expensive clothes you get what you pay for. Those $5 leggings you purchased alongside your groceries are probably $5 for a reason. Just sayin’. But, I’m always really impressed with the quality I get with OshKosh.

Here are a few of the outfits we chose from the new spring stash – there were so many cute options that it was hard to narrow it down!

This first outfit is my favorite. It came in a set with the tank and skort and I LOVE that isn’t a skort. Fern is getting to the age where dresses don’t come with bloomers anymore, but diapers and undies still need covering, so a skort is brilliant.

This skirt is still a little big, but I can tell it’ll fit like a glove as the true spring weather gets a little closer. I loved all the navy and coral pairings in this spring collection!

Fern styled her hair for this outfit. She specifically requested not one, but TWO of the OshKosh hair clips. “Stripey pink one AND the pink polka dotty one Mama!” I didn’t capture it well in the photo, but the lace insets on this little navy cotton dress is a fun little surprise. So cute!

This little gingham tunic is my absolute favorite! I bought it in a size up so Fern can wear it as a dress now and a tunic later and I like it with the coral leggings. Fern was so excited to be wearing leggings that weren’t basic black.

Now, I guess it’s time for me to add some color to my closet too!

Love and dress-up,

Lauren
