i’m back + a disneyland recap.

Hey guys! I’m back!

Fern and I had so much fun visiting California and especially at Disneyland. To be honest, I thought it was going to be kind of a waste of time/money to take her there, but it was seriously so perfect. Seeing Disneyland through the eyes of a little one is completely magical…even if you go into it as a naysayer, I guarantee you will be swayed.

Fern meeting Minnie Mouse was a memory I will always cherish – the way her face lit up was priceless. She pinched Minnie’s nose and gave her a big kiss and got to spend at least a full minute (that’s a long time when there’s a big line behind you) sitting with her – way longer than anyone else – because everyone in line was oohing and awwwing over how adorable it was and I swear I’m not even being biased.

Riding Small World was my second favorite moment of the day. Fern spent the entire ride wide-eyed and excitedly pointing at everything.

She was a little scared of Pluto though. Apparently he was a little too big of a dog or her :). Her face here is so perfect!

We spent a lot of time climbing on things in Toon Town while my mom and her friends rode on grown-up rides, but Fern was totally into it. There were plenty of furniture and stairs to climb – her favorite.

We watched the parade with my friend Danni and her adorable littles Edie and Tommy. Fern was totally obsessed with Edie AND with the parade. The mouse ears she wasn’t so keen on and she kept trying to pull tem off, but once the parade started, she was so distracted, I was able to sneak a few photos.

Meeting Cinderella. I’m not so much a princess person, but when in Rome… I think being a princess at Disneyland just might be one of the best jobs in the world though. Can you imagine the feeling of bringing so much joy to little girls all day long? Best ever.

Waiting in line for Dumbo. I think she may have been more into pulling out the grass than the actual ride on this one.

And that was that. We had the best time and my mom and I took about 8,000 photos (not literally, but seriously a ton) of Fern. I highly recommend taking even the tiniest tots to Disneyland – there’s a little something for everyone. I think Fern’s age now (14 months) was perfect – or really any time after they become a little more proficient at walking. I know she won’t remember it, but I definitely will and I can’t wait to take her again, except with Craig next time…and maybe a sibling…we’ll see :).

Oh…and in case you’re looking for tips and tricks for taking a little there yourself, I did a little post about it over at Disney Baby, so definitely check it out!

  7. I am so glad you did a post on this! We are going to Disneyland in just over a month and I wasn’t sure whether or not it would be worth going with a little one but this absolutely convinced me and now I’m crazily excited to go! And the advice you shared on Disneybaby was exactly what I needed to know, thank you thank you!

  8. We’re talking about taking a family vacation, and I’m seriously considering Disneyland. I absolutely LOVE it, plus I’m dying to take our little one to Carsland. He watches you tube videos of the Cars just driving around the park, so I know he would absolutely love it. He’s 20 months though, so I was concerned that it wouldn’t be enjoyable. I’m so glad you wrote this, because I think it would be a lot of fun. Thanks!!!
